Name one game when Jimmy let in three tries and we were down. Even if you could, I bet he found a way to dig the team out and get the Win.

Maloney when at his best is a good player but to say he's not a total liability in defence is a straight up lie. Whatever side he defends on is compromised but hopefully Ivan is smarter than Griffdawg and at least pairs him with Captain Yeo. These stats also show Jimmy is only getting worse as well

Look at when Cleary went down. Maloney stepped up and got a simple plays going with the coaches. Problem is he has shown to be a child on field when things go wrong

Maloney got worse due to injuries. Provided we play Jarome Luai when he's injured it's fine. Just give him a longer rest and play him at 100% a month out from the finals.

In all honesty, if Maloney is uninjured and in form for the whole season, we'll win a grand final. He's just unforgiving and relentless and beats the opponent into submission.

No player who let in multiple soft tries every game would be playing NRL, let alone being selected for NSW and Australia.

I was watching the highlights of the earlier games. His positioning can be improved in broken play, I think Ivan would be the perfect one for him to fix this, but with a set line he's wasn't that bad when he was uninjured.

On the attacking side, he was tearing the opposition to shreds around the ruck. That went missing a bit at the end of the season, presumably due to "numbness and weakness in one side of his body due to a neck injury"

No you’re blind. You don’t don’t like him, so you only ever talk about the negative aspects of his games, people might actually take what you are saying seriously if you also gave credit when it’s due, but you’re incapable of doing that.

Kikau too when guys are coming gets lost. Moving Maloney and Cleary will help attack and defense

Everytime he played well I said so and he's still the best 6 in our squad but he is an awful choice for captain for many reasons

I'm a big fan of Maloney but he absolutely does let in soft tries. He's terrible defensively and should switch sides to defend near Yeo and Whare who are very good and Cleary can sit on Kikau's side to improve the defence there.

Ivan is also a good defensive coach so that should help.

Premierships are won on defence, he's won 2, and been to another grand final. Hes not the best defender, but having a good edge partner will go a long way to rectifying his shortcomings. It's the same as any other typically bad half. Thurston has had Cooper for the last few years to fix his issues, no reason Yeo can't do the same.
