The 1 thing I learnt from that game is that the HIA only applies if you are gassed and need a free interchange or just want to slow the game down

How about his dummy half play after Wighton made that break towards the end of the first half. There's four Raiders to his left and only two defenders, and there's Rapana to his right and four defenders. He goes to Rapana. Next play he's at dummy half again, there's no Raiders to his right. He goes right, and by the time he figures out nobody is there the defence is already on top of the guys to his left.

The attack does his side is just insipid. He doesn't really create anything. He has no step, no evasiveness, just a straight, predictable run into the defence where he is usually smashed or throws an impossible ball to his winger.

He's long past his expiry date.

i hope next week our attack consists of more than just Simple Jack running down the left side over and over again trying to get an overlap with Croker and Cotric... Wighton had a good game but geez he can be predictable. Starting to agree about Croker, for every good thing he does he is doing something very poor.
Anyway I had all these plans to do renovations and stuff this weekend but I can't think about anything but the grand final.

Congrats Raiders fans, it's been a long time between drinks and hopefully your boys make it worth the wait.

Big Pete said:
I can't see Leilua ever winning a premiership.

He's just another bone-head in a team filled with them.

I posted this three years ago and as soon as Canberra beat Melbourne in the first week of the finals it came straight to mind. For the record, I think it's a silly talking point now but I'm curious to see how Joe handles the big occassion and can make this 'blind fool' eat his words.

Hopefully he's right to play.

I still can't get over how bad Damien Cook was last night. Swap no. 9s and we win by 20. Putrid.
We’re very strong defensively in the middle so I don’t think Cook was ever going to have the freedom he usually does. The one time we were scattered in the middle he darted out of dummy half and nearly put one of your big fellas under the posts.

Thank you both sides for a tense crazy game. I thought Cody Walker was amazing for Souths while Reynolds and Cook looked underwhelming. Souths did very well to stay in the game considering and even at stages looked like they were going to win it, but ironically lost to a side who even Wayne would have to appreciate with their defence.
Both sides showed they were champions in their own right and even though it got a bit scrappy towards the end, it was still a high quality game.
Papalli is having an unforgettable season and it would be wonderful to see it rewarded with a premiership.
What a week ahead this will be for Raiders players, staff, friends, family and fans.!

Im still not convinced it was even an illegal tackle.
If you're referring to that Pappi shot on Douhli, yea it was a non event. The ridiculous point about this is tackles like that have been penalised throughout this season.

Thank God Pappi isn't missing the game next week.

I'll say this much - we're making a habit of losing prelims. 4 in 8 years now. I've been to all four of those and I found Raiders fans to be by FAR the most gracious of the lot. Lots of 'bad luck fellas' and by and large were just celebrating their victory rather than rubbing in defeat.
Id give anything to see my side play 4 prelims in the past 8 years...they havent even made the 8 in that time!
I actually thought the Rabbits looked the better side for the majority of the game but the desparation of the Raiders defence coupled with a very vocal crowd was the difference. You have a succesful club to continue following.

Not a chance he gets banned. NRL wont sabotage the GF like the year they banned Smith again. There is precedence to prove this.
Told you. Great decision not to rub one of the form players in the comp out of the decider for a good hard Rugby League tackle.
