They have before and will again. The Bears are still in living memory and the tv world is a constant reminder that they are about. One of the Bears main sponsors was Citibank before there ousting. I'm sure these big companies would jump at the chance to support a revitalized Central Coast Bears. This club has been wronged just like many others when a decision to reduce to 14 teams was agreed to in 1997.

who let this rambling old fruit back in the main board????

Why would these multinationals jump at the chance to sponsor the bears located in Gosford but not Souths which is about 9km or less? ( just an estimate from a map)

Don’t do it pommy, you’re just inviting him. There are numerous threads in The expansion section if you want to to read stallions views on the bears lol

There are 10 teams within 110km drive from the Central Coast.

There is also Australia's highest population density and over 6million people in this region. Wise business especially established ones don't discard their advantage. And their are not 10teams :it's 8.5 teams in Sydney metropolitan area. ((if you want count St George Illawarra then count the Illawarra region as well) Perhaps you will work out it's Melbourne (AFL )that has ten teams with considerably less people in that area?

Totally different area and geography. A very different demographic as well. The Bears were (believe it or not) embraced by the private school supporter demographic as well!

They’re not in the middle they Cronulla are the third worse in the Comp and on the back of winning a premiership.

Titans have a lot of work to do to do build their membership base, but they are getting more people through the gate than a number of clubs so it’s not all the disaster some on here like to paint.
Right now the Sharks are 9th, that's pretty much in the middle.
You are talking 2018 memberships.
You could have mentioned Manly who were a few thousand below Cronulla and also had a drop from the year before. You could have mentioned the Roosters who were only 100 odd above the Sharks, and who too lost members from the year before.
But no you can't hide your agenda. Even with the Sharks actually gaining memberships you choose to ignore other teams. This is why you have little credibility on here.
Also, when there is a competition of 16 teams someone finishes first, someone finishes last and all the other slots in between get filled in. Unless of course everyone ends up on exactly the same numbers.... using a team that finished 3rd last shows how weak minded you are.

Sorry I will restrain myself. I just want to understand the baffling logic.

It is time the NRL eliminated the last place position in the comp. We should have a second last but no last.

TO STILL HAVE TEAMS FINISHING LAST IN 2019 IS A DISGRACE.

100% agree

What I think should happen is for the next 15 seasons any team that finishes last should fold. That way the bestest team will be left standing at the end and we will have successfully punished those teams that are shit. We can all then get our dicks out and wave them about in celebration of a job well done.

Back to Membership.

https://www.broncos.com.au/news/2019/02/08/derby-deal-to-aid-flood-recovery/

The Broncos are doing their 'Derby Deal' for the R2 game v Cowboys with $5 from each one sold going to the Townsville Flood Appeal.

really great initiative by brisbane, but they’re garnishing their membership numbers with this...........as are my mob when the derby is in NQ with a similar ‘derby membership’.

Be f**ked if I am signing up for these tickets and being a member number for the enemy, I’ll wait til the general public tix go on sale and donate more money to the flood relief to tick that box as well.

They will be the Central Coast Bears, not the North Sydney Bears?

Yes. And a smart business would link both areas. Let's hope this happens if given a chance! The Bears motif is enough for past fans to get on board. And Central Coast will have a team to fill their underutilized modern stadium with Leagues to boot!

There are 10 teams within 110km of the Central Coast, that is enough without adding another one on the Central Coast, especially when we have have other areas of higher importance.

Over 6million people and getting bigger! If you count the Illawarra and Central Coast it's even bigger. That's where the people are and the longstanding established existing advantage over other codes. You dilute that you give other codes a shot and piss off a hell of a lot of people! The code can expand without dilution! No issues with another Brisbane club? No issues with a West Coast Pirates!? Losing established clubs in longstanding rugby league areas is not the way to go forward. Additional clubs ! Yes.

I don't want to cut existing clubs, but we shouldn't be adding them in an already overcrowded market.
