Interesting to see how Eels handle the hype this year. I had us just in the 8 and Eels making the top 4 but I also know they can easily miss the 8 if injuries hit and they don’t have the same big home ground advantage. They lacked spark except for when Moses showed some individual brilliance. I don’t think they can win the comp unless they learn how to win ugly.
Main observations for us- good to have a quality 9 again and I prefer Burton to Luai.
I don't think either team played all their cards today - and why would they, in a trial?
Matterson, Paulo, and Lane hardly offloaded the ball; Dylan Brown barely kicked; Reed Mahoney didn't kick much out of dummy half.
I believe we went out there to get some mileage in the legs, and work on some structures.
I am happy with the hit out, tbh - and no injuries makes it sweeter.
