If the mighty Penrith Panthers go all the way in 2020, that will be a win not only for the club with it’s amazing junior base that enriched the game so much but also for ‘Rugba Leeg’.

As opposed to the Rorters trying to buy another comp or even the Storm.. People will quickly forget about it.

We played just 6 games at Penrith this year, played the 3 Qld teams in Qld, beat every team at least once except Newcastle, got 25 out 28 points away from Penrith, and 12 out of at Penrith.
What more do you want?
Give credit where it is due and stop trying to downplay what is perhaps the best streak in living memory.

A lot of people won’t give us due credit unless we make the Grand Final and win it. Even some people would probably try to diminish us winning the comp, even after a potential 18 straight wins!

I remember salty Roosters fans and their excuses after the 2003 GF, i.e. it was a wet track and luck went Penrith’s way.. For some people it’s just ingrained in their brains that Penrith shouldn’t succeed in the NRL and if they do, it must be an accident.

I used to give a shit about other fans perception of Penrith, I couldn't understand why they couldn't see what I could. Now I couldn't give a rats arse. Fans of clubs that have had a lot of success get it, those of us who only get a rare sniff of it crave for everyone to share our enthusiasm. It aint gunna happen.

Learn to embrace the hate & jealousy. No one started hating Manly, Melbourne, Broncos & Roosters because they were shit. Games & premierships aren't won by media or fan opinion on TV, Radio, forums or facebook. Come what may on Friday night & there after Panthers fans can be proud of 2020 & those that down play it can go & slurp on a big fat knob.

Yeh, I get it. Like some/all fans think Roosters don’t develop talent and just buy established players. People will believe what they want to believe. For the record, I never had and issue with 03 and think you’ve had a crackin’ 2020.

Geez getting a bit defensive panthers fans. I said several times you guys have had a great season and well deserved minor premiers. My question simply was whether you are underdone. It seems a fair enough question. It doesnt take away from your achievement thus far. We will find out over the next few weeks.

Is that right? None of your best players or captain are juniors. It’s hilarious how every club except chooks gets to count players that they developed from a young age despite the fact they come from no where near the club.

Drawing a pretty long bow there with some of the locations. Critta iirc was still filling his nappy when the family moved to Mt Druitt. I don't think Samoa had much to do with his development.

I do get where you are coming from regarding your own team. The Chooks do a fine job of developing young talent. They are also very astute when in comes to bringing in established top shelf talent. Most of the sombrero shit is just taking the piss, those that truly believe that you only poach top liners are a bit touched.

Fair enough I grabbed it from player profile pages. Happy to stand corrected. I’m just responding to the usual, exaggerated juniors argument. Tbh I was surprised panthers ding have more genuine juniors

Cool. So roosters can claim same for our involvement in central coast? So panthers to get to claim some sort of superiority with regard to juniors because they get to manage regions that are in some cases 400 kms from their base.

Yes a big difference between a Junior that a club developed and a LOCAL junior. Why isn't RTS are Roosters junior? You guys put all the work in to him to get him to the level

Where they played Matts, SG Ball & debuted is more relevant to where they were born. I also use the same benchmark when considering other clubs juniors as well. I cant remember which game it was but we had one this year where the 17 players all debuted at Penrith. It's a shame more clubs don't put the same time & resources into junior development, if everyone did it the lack of talent to support expansion argument wouldn't exist. I don't include the Roosters in that swipe either, they along with Melbourne do bloody well considering their home catchment areas.

Absolutely you can. And should be proud of it.
