The roosters at the beginning of the latrell saga were hard ball they wouldnt release him to us under any circumstance, as time went on their attitude changed now they cant wait to shift him.
Arrow, the titans have put it out they have no intention of releasing Arrow for 2020, this is to try to influence and delay his decision, but if he signs they will shift him asap so they can clear cap space, im confident their stance will change
Gees, I'm not confident of that one. But for me they don't want to let him go at all, which tells me 2020 is definitely out. But like you said, we never know.

Hope you’re right mate, another rumour around today is AJ on a 3 yr deal to the Tigers, also we are looking to move Gagai on is the talk around.

I’d be happy with AJ and Gagai out for Latrell and Addo Carr in.

Still I wouldn’t be surprised if 21 onwards Addo Carr goes to Wests, still I think we are in with a chance though.
I dont believe J a c will come i think if we shifted 1 player eg AJ who wants FB and wont get it, who is probably on around 370, would be enough. Though id rather keep AJ and shift gags

I can’t see AJ staying mate at the latest after 2020 he will go, he will wanna chase fullback elsewhere!

We gave him a good go at fullback and he just didn’t deliver what we needed unfortunately imo.

You can bet they will both eventually go somewhere. But I'd rather go by choice if I could, because getting the chop causes lower offers.

South Sydney five-eighth Cody Walker has signed a new two-year extension to keep him at the club until the end of 2022.

Negotiations between the Rabbitohs and Walker's management had stalled in recent weeks, opening the door for a potential play at Latrell Mitchell, however both parties have since reached an agreement to extend his time at the club where he made his debut in 2016.

"I’m really happy to have this contract signed. South Sydney is my home and I didn’t want to play for anyone else," Walker said in the Rabbitohs' announcement of the deal.

"There’s really no other option for me. It was my priority to stay here and I’m glad the club and my management were able to come to an agreement before Christmas so we can enjoy this special time of year as a family, then turn our focus back onto getting prepared for next season.

"There are exciting times ahead and I can’t wait to part of it all."

NRL.com understands Walker's deal is worth just shy of $700,000 a year.

The Rabbitohs are still waiting on Gold Coast Titans forward Jai Arrow to make a decision on his future, while there is also still interest in Mitchell if they can fit him into the salary cap.

Souths have close to $1.2 million freed up in the salary cap as a result of the premature retirement of Sam Burgess, however it's likely Mitchell will have to settle for well less than the $1 million-a-season price tag if things are to progress with South Sydney.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are excited to announce the contract extension of New South Wales State of Origin and Indigenous All Stars representative Cody Walker which will see him in red and green until at least the end of the 2022 season.

Walker, 29, has played 96 NRL matches, all for South Sydney, following his debut against the Sydney Roosters in round one of the 2016 season.

Walker went on to make his State of Origin debut for New South Wales in 2019, as well as captaining the Indigenous All Stars and representing the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII at season’s end, capping a stellar 2019 season for the product of Casino on the New South Wales north coast.

Walker could not be happier about re-signing with South Sydney.

“I’m really happy to have this contract signed. South Sydney is my home and I didn’t want to play for anyone else,” Walker said.

“There’s really no other option for me. It was my priority to stay here and I’m glad the Club and my management were able to come to an agreement before Christmas so we can enjoy this special time of year as a family, then turn our focus back onto getting prepared for next season.

The Redfern community has really taken me and my family in and I call this place home now.

“I can’t wait to see what’s ahead in the coming years for this Club, this team, the Members and the supporters.

“There are exciting times ahead and I can’t wait to part of it all.”

Rabbitohs General Manager of Football, Shane Richardson, said Walker’s re-signing was a priority for South Sydney.

Cody’s game went to a new level in 2019, as did his leadership at the Club
Shane Richardon
General Manager of Football

He is one of the most potent attacking players in the competition and he showed he has the resolve to be one of the best defensive halves in the NRL as well.

His performances have been rewarded with not only a new contract, but also his selections for the Indigenous side, New South Wales and the Australian Prime Minister’s team this year. He also captained our side on a number of occasions this year which shows the growth in him as a leader.

He is South Sydney through-and-through; his partner Nellie, who is in our women’s football program as well as his two boys, Kian and Kade, are part of the fabric here at Souths; he is very active with Souths Cares in the community and we knew we would always get a deal done with Cody despite speculation to the contrary over recent months.

“He is a quality footballer from a great family and we’re looking forward to seeing him take a greater leadership role at the Club over the next two years.”

Re Latrell do we honestly think they’re gonna release him to us a year early @callmack1 it’s hard to see Uncle Nick doing that, and if he does release him it won’t be easy/unless he’s planning something else up his sleeve to get one back on us if he lets Latrell come to us early!

Anyways if he won’t release Latrell let him have an unhappy player on their books and I hope it creates divisions and unrest etc.... @southsport@Souths till I die @handyman2190 @Peter Quinn

They will be paying a lot for a player to play reserve grade

Absolutely fantastic news! Once again, this has made my day, so happy right now!! I love that he said Souths is his home and he wouldn't want to play for anyone else. Great to have a key player locked in!
