There are plenty of options this year which in itself is very exciting.
I think Ivan will get a few things wrong with who is in the squad but as long as we are progressive we should have a good squad this year and a great one next.

I would start this year with Burton having a run at fullback in the reserves, giving Creighton a shot at it in fg and Luai a run at 5/8 before May is available to push for a spot.
If creighton or Burton don’t fly at fb I think we will need to hit the market at the end of the year for one, which probably means we loose Tamou and Edwards.

I would personally be aiming to transition players into this team for next year with a staged phasing out of a few players.

Burton
Naden
Creighton
Burns
To’o
May / Luai
Cleary
Tamou ,API, Tetivano
Kikau , Yeo
JFH
Martin, Capewell, Luai / May, Hethrington

Even if Luai doesn’t make the 5/8 spot he could be a great utility.

Luai has been awful as a utility so far. Not sure why that would change

Bearing in mind we play the Roosters first up I think the team is likely to be as started yesterday in the backs with the addition of JFH Kikau and Capewell in the forwards. Changes may happen later in the rounds but with our first few games against heavy weights I don't see too may changes.

It is just disappointing that some guys have been less than impressive and get a run over others that have gone better. What is the point of trials in that case?

Yet twice Aekins just took the tackle on the last and nothing

Yeah no idea what's happening. Either we are clueless about the sport we follow or Ivan had his mind made up already. Look at the insistence to play Naden at centre.

Unless it's mind games.

Hetherington is in front of Leota you would think. Burns would be my centre fits them in

I think perhaps Leota would get the gig. Jack still needs work at not giving away silly penalties and still needs miles in his legs.

I have no idea who will get 5/8th gig. Just re listened to Cleary interview. Playing cards close to his chest. I think he'll give Aekin no 1.
