one of the ways of overcoming the problem will not be using short wingers with a poor vertical leap. At least if you’re tall like Addo-Carr you have some chance of out competing the attacking winger.

The point was how this related to someone like Josh Mansour, who not only doesn’t have a vertical leap, he’s also on the shorter side. It won’t simply be a matter of “overcoming” it for him, he’s already bad under the high ball. This will make things worse.

Not if he is allowed to strip it though stay on the ground so has a better chance to grab it when the player lands.

Rugby has this same rule and are better kickers than NRL and you struggle to see tries. If it was as easy as kick and catch for a try then why would we not see it?

Like i said players will now be landing ball first. Unstoppable

Garbage if so you’d see it in test footy, RU and ESL

This is what I was talking about before which you said Bellamy would find a way to counter it. You can't. Unless you hit at the ball but you're still giving away a repeat set minimum or giving a penalty.

On the other side we've seen how athletic wingers have become. With a running start there is so muchcadvantage to the attacking team already to overcome.

There will still be a challenge for the ball though. To do what Dave’s mate said the ball needs to land on the exact spot. Jump timed well enough so the opposing player to not be in the way for the ball to get knocked lose so you can spin around to land on the ball.

AFL, NFL etc all have similar plays and defenders get good at spoiling the ball instead of catching it. You get teams doing sessions with AFL guys (like the Panthers did) to help with both sides of the ball. Not to mention still the risk of 7 tackles if the opposition catch it cleanly.

I genuinely didn’t know NRL had the rule different but you don’t see that many tries in RL or RU because of it. Still get 2 guys going for a ball one getting it. Still see guys held up if they do catch it while attacking the line

So now we'll see defenders just punching the ball away? This is utterly ridiculous

Don’t they do that anyway now? Knock a ball to a team mate or back over the line.
Nope they most often start trying to wrap the ball up and gently lower them to the ground. Now that that's not an option theyll just smack the ball dead if they can't catch it. This rule is an abortion

Roosters scored one against us when Tupou jumped up knocked it back and Latrell scored.

Most short kickoffs are knocked back rather then get caught too. So it already happens.

This is the attacking side hitting back, now DEFENDERS will have to because they have NO other options

Part 4 of the preparing the Panthers video is worth a look. The players are certainly spoilt when it comes to the the food prepared for them on training days.

The classic bit was when they they asked Nathan if he takes any of the bags of left overs home, and he says he would but they usually get stolen from the fridge. And jokes that he has to writes Ivan’s name on them so no one is game to take them.

Looks like Cleary has plans to use May as cover for hooker if May receives clearance by the NRL to continue playing.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/12/10/may-in-clearys-panthers-plans-for-2020/

Koroisau, 27, is returning to Penrith after four years with the Sea Eagles. He has been an 80-minute hooker but more recently shared the role with Manase Fainu at Manly.

"He hasn't done it [played the full 80] for a long time so we'll see how he goes," Cleary said.

"It would be nice if he could, but if he can't we've got Mitch Kenny in the group and that's also where Tyrone May comes into calculations."

Seems silly for Egan to have left us if he could of shared the Hooking duties. I dont think he will see much first grade with the Warriors.
