Great stuff vic

Panthers fans not being able to support a grand final win in person is lol worthy. Looks like I'm going for PENRITH!

no parade, no drinks at the leagues club, no fan day at the ground the next day

In all seriousness of there’s one GF you don’t want to win, it’s this one

* Teams that lose 2 GFs in a row then become AIDS for the next few years (Easts 03/04, Saints 92/93, Balmain 88/89)
Fact Check: Balmain made the 5-team finals the following year, going out first week (playing a midweek playoff wouldn't have helped). It was their last ever hurrah as a stand alone club. Dragons missed the finals the next year but returned the year after. Only the Roosters had a sustained period in the bottom half after making the decider three years running.

Congrats on joining Rhyno in incorrectly stating the fate of repeat GF losers.

having not won a comp in the last 16 years you probably have lower standards then me however sneaking into the finals only to be booted straight out is still pretty AIDS to me

Im really flip flopping between who I want to win, or really its who I want to lose more. So I'm putting together a list:

Pros in Penrith losing:
* Ivan will be sad and potentially have a complete mental break down over Bennett smiling
* Every year penrith don't win it Gould becomes less able to take credit for a Premiership
* Latrell Mitchell will probably have another massive sook on social media about not playing
* Souths fans dont get to go to the game and enjoy it properly
* Souths windown ends this season so they wont win it again anytime soon
* I'll be happy for Benji
* Teams that lose 2 GFs in a row then become AIDS for the next few years (Easts 03/04, Saints 92/93, Balmain 88/89)

Pros in Souths losing:
* Russell Crowe will cry and likley blame the referees
* We won't have to listen to Gould go on about how Penrith were actually the better team for the next 12 months
* Penrith will probably win one with this squad at some stage, and LOL@ their fans not being able to celebrate it properly due to lockdown
* The two times Penrith won a comp they've then been completely irrelevant for the next decade
* The media won't have all off season saying 'I cant believe the Tigers let Benji go'
* Souths will still have 1 comp in the last 50 years and wont be adding to it anytime soon
* I dont find the Panthers team anywhere near as unlikable as they were last year
* I can say we beat the Premiers
* Dylan Edwards winning a comp gives hope to all the kids plying their trade in the 12Ds that they can still make it

From my observations Souths fans seem fairly relaxed whilst Panthers fans are nervous. Funnily enough this is mirrored by their coaches.

I just hope its entertaining. I dont buy the games are good just becuase they are close. The Panthers/Storm game was absolute dogshit quality and only exciting in the last 4 minutes because it was close and a final. The Eels/Panthers game was ordinary too but slightly better viewing.

Ultimately I'm tipping Penrith something like 14-12. This was said for another game but my big hope is that its a controversial game with the better team losing due to a dud bunker call in the last minute.
So unqualified support for the Panthers; welcome aboard!!

Tack another 20 points on for the Panthers. Our defense will simply be too much for them, then our attack will pour it on for the lolz.

Also, I thought you might have brought up the point in which Balmain and Souths had a GF in I think 1909? And Souths dudded the Tigers for some reason, and that hatchet hasn't been buried.

I’d be surprised if a team that’s scored 4 tries in 3 games suddenly scores 30+ points in a Grand Final, but stranger things have happened

I do agree that Penriths defence will likely be the difference

Since Round 20 Souths are scoring the most points in the competition (33.0 per match compared to Penrith's 20.8), while conceding the least points (13.9 per match compared to Penrith's 14.3).

In that period too we have played the Panthers twice, Roosters and Eels.

Even if you go right back to Round 12, we are averaging 15.1 points conceded compared to Penrith's 14.4.

But sure, we can pretend it's still May and we can't tackle, if that helps you.

I thought you would be aware that there will be both Souths and Panthers fans present at the ground?
