You see at least one of those tackles every weekend that Ravalawa just got suspended for go without charge. I think Ravalawa is being targeted based purely on his priors. I'm surprised the hit on Brad Parker which was hit of the round wasn't charged too.
Would love to hear what non-Dragons fans in here think about it.

Unlucky but you can’t say he wasn’t warned after the first two times he was suspended. Is it worth 4 weeks no it’s not though. Rava needs to get his timing right. You can say the arm wrapping was only marginally after the shoulder, that just means it was after. Doesn’t matter if it was 0.1 or 2 seconds after, it’s still late. That said it’s not a 4 weekend. They need to dial back these should charge punishments, grade 1 should only be a fine imo.

I hear what you're saying but in most tackles the shoulder hits first then the arm or arms wrap.
You can pick many examples from all games on the weekend.
He's previous 2 he did not attempt to wrap the arm or arms and were not challenged for that reason.
This one should not of even attracted a charge as it meets all the criteria of a genuine tackle.

The tribal nature of rugby league works in the NRL's favour when they make these ridiculous decisions. Most supporters of other teams would probably think Ravalawa was hard done by, but don't really care if a Dragons winger gets 4 weeks. Likewise, most of us can see TKO's sin binning was an overreaction to an accident and spoiled what was a good game, but in the end it's the Roosters so no-one else gives a shit.

So the roosters had a player binned for foul play that was subsequently deemed unworthy of a charge?

Makes sense.
More like a Rooster tried to decapitate the next immortal. Was charged for it. Roosters then remind the judiciary he's a Roosters player and they backflip and remove the lenient punishment they originally gave him.

Then decide to make an example of the Dragons player. Ravalawa is the new Ryles.

You have the process wrong.

The judiciary didn't back flip on anything, they merely reversed what was a ridiculous charge made by the MRC.

Whilst agree with it all , the fact is they made that action illegal . He has been suspended twice before and continues to do those type of tackles. You would think they would change his tackling style . this is the fault of the dragons and rava for not addressing and no sympathy .

but i do agree with dragons fans tho , that their club seems to cop the beginning of these type of sanctions … remember Craig smith and was forced out by using knees when running … klemmer is the biggest offender ever and never gets penalised . Can also add the jdb rule to equation

I think also the flipping plahers by their legs is most dangerous act in game , forget the head shots .. seen so many tackles these days they become almost mini spear tackles( or should I rephrase result in players falling to ground like a spear tackle )

Munster protected species ?

Absolutely.

It’s another example of elite protectionism.

Dylan Brown copped 3 weeks for leading with the knees into Drew Hutchison. Munster leads with knees into Tedesco - thankfully it didn’t cause a severe injury but yet….not a thing… despite Munster gutlessly kicking out at players previously…

At the other end a player who’s not hit / attacked the head, injured anyone nor committed foul play… has been suspended 3 times this season…

this is the magical mystery world of Peter Vlandys we now live in…

The fact that Hetherington has missed almost half a season through suspension from poorly executing actual rugby league tackles, while Muenster has missed exactly zero games for deliberately kicking and kneeing players on 3 occasions in that same time period is a neon sign for why the MRC and judiciary system sucks.

20 years ago Muenster would have been sent off for every one of those acts, and likely missed 15 games.

It will be interesting to see if Fifita from the Roosters gets suspended and if Olam from the Storm is cited. Fifita definitely hit the Munster with his shoulder and Olam hit Walker in a tackle similar to how Rava did and got suspended for.

20 years ago, Munster would have been knocked flat on his arse after doing it once and wouldn't have done it again.
