He’s played in average sides though. An awful Broncos, mediocre Titans, and woeful Qld.

If he played in a top 4 team or for NSW last night it’d be a whole different story.
You're not wrong, but I don't see him commanding $1.25m a season from a top team. Takes a huge chunk of the cap and the rest of the roster is full of half arsed first graders.
Hence the position the titans occupy on the ladder.
He's young, so he has plenty of time to come good but his pay is certainly not justified.

This perfectly illustrates which state actually "gets origin".

The fact only one QLD series victory from 2006-2017 features on that list despite the team of superstars they had vs our battlers is testament to the effort NSW put in those series.
What is your definition of “getting origin”?

Completely Agree with earnings in a top side. It’s always been the wat under the salary cap…

I think it’ll be a better indication on his value next year…. How the Titans improve, who else is attracted to the club, along with his personal form of course.

He’s a forward that can have lightning bolt moments of destruction. He can break teams apart… but can’t be expected to sustain it on his own.

I’d rank him in the top 5 forwards in the NRL. The guy is still quite young too… Taumalolo didn’t really emerge as an elite forward until a few seasons in the NRL. I reckon Fifita is better at the same stage and could prove to be a better forward overall, but indeed it’s very early days…

Anyway he can suck on a cactus 3 times a year for the rest of his career as far as I’m concerned… he’s a filthy Maroon and hope he gets another whooping in a few weeks time…

In 5 years time most of this current NSW team will be only in their late 20s.
Turbo
Latrell
To'o
Luai
Cleary
Saifiti
Murray
Haas
Martin
Crichton

Are all 25 or younger and behind them you have guys like Staggs, Graham, Burton, Brailey x2, Crichton, Best, Saab, Cotric, Lomax, Leniu, Schuster, Suualii, Fainu*, Staines, Koloamatangi, Paseka, etc
Yep as a QLDer that is daunting.
We must focus on pathways or the Decade of Dominance will be nothing compared with what is coming.
Luckily we won in 2020 or else we would already be down 4 series in a row with NSW only just getting started.

Yep, alot of QLD fans pulling the lube out and busting one out thinking about how good their team will be in 3,4,5,6 years time with all these unknown quantities like Walsh, Walker, Tabuai-Fidow, etc and forget that most of the NSW backline will still be around by then

Green got the Cowboys to a grand final without Thurston.
Should not have even made the 8, but having done so ran with a very simple game plan. Extraordinary completion rate over 3 finals, and a forward pack that rolled forward. Much flashier sides of the day like Sharks, Eels and Roosters were complacent and could not stop the roll. Only the Storm were ready for it.

That's because Morgan was the better player and more important. JT is one of the most overrated players in the sports history

Good first game. Always a strong defender but bombed two tries in the second, so they won despite him really.

First so called bombed try was a horrible pass, too quick and behind him. It is one thing Tedesco can improve actually his passes tend to be too quick. Mitchell sets up players with better passes as a FB

Exactly. The first missed try was definitely not his fault. If the pass had been better it was a certain try.

I have to laugh at the experts claiming that QLD have no hope of coming back next year.

Just to play sliding doors; If you look at origin 2, QLD gifted NSW the first two tries with a piss poor turnover in scoring territory and an intercept. If you take those tries away and QLD actually score the tries that Turbo and To’o prevented then you have a totally different game.

For next year, QLD require the pack to stand up, with Grant included. They require the backs boosted by some centres, with Brimson and Ponga included. Munster and Fifita need rockets up their backsides. That’s 5 X-factor players who can all change the outcome of a game who should all be there. Any emerging young QLDers in the outside backs need to train as centres, as a 10+ year origin career is awaiting them if successful. I’m looking at you Mulitano….if they let you play.

Point being, for years we lamented the lack of competition at Origin from NSW. They have stood up since 2018. Time for the Maroons to reciprocate. With other young guns in the wings such as Walker and Walsh and QLD rugby league’s embarrassment this year, we could have a great series next year. Origin is far from dead.

It wasn't fantastic but you need to take these.
