Reynolds doesn't love this club to bits. Thats an insult to Sutton. He turned around and took aim at the board. Reynolds like every other player is only in it for the money. Dont let the door hit you on the way out Reynolds.
How is saying Reyno loves Souths an insult to Sutto? Reyno took aim at the board because they put out the false claim he was on restricted training which hurt his prospects at obtaining another deal. I don't know about you but if someone is telling lies about me you better believe I will return serve. To say Reyno is only in it for the money is just blatantly wrong. Just because you don't like the guy doesn't mean you can make stuff up about him.

I appreciate what you're saying but I think you're wrong putting all this on Reyno. I just think the club has a lot of blame in why it's reached the point it has. Why did they feel the need to put out claims about Reynos supposed injury problems? Surely they would know this would hurt his chances of getting another contract at another club. With regards to Jason and Kyle you said "As always, club knows best.", and in that case they did but it doesn't then follow that they are right in everything they do. I, and many others, happen to feel that in the case of Reyno they are very, very wrong. Finally, to say that what Reyno is doing is worse than Keary is astounding. Reyno loves this club to bits and is only trying to look after his family, Keary only loves money and couldn't give a shit about us even though we brought him into first grade and let him win his first premiership.
Listen to yourself rocky....keary only loves money and couldnt give shit about us....reyno loves this club to bits and is trying to look after his family..... he is every bit the same as keary,, at least keary got a gobful and virtually thrown out, reyno has been offered a deal but because of money wants more, i think he loves himself more, which is fine but the patronising attitude, the leaking that he would consider cowboys now broncos etc etc is only geared for himself,to put pressure on the club and members, terrorism, coersion. Reynolds is no saint in this, there are faults both ways, but he agitates by not accepting the deal

Once again, Reyno is not asking for more money. He is just seeking the security of a 3 year deal. To even try to equate Reyno to Keary is downright disgusting. Also, how is saying he would consider Cows or Broncs in any way harmful to the club? The club want him gone so to say that is terroristic is laughable. Finally, if you were negotiating with someone and they offered you less than you were seeking would you just meekly accept it so as not to "agitate" anyone? I think not.

If Reynolds was after more money, he'd be more likely to accept the shorter deal at a higher rate imo. Now he's on the market money will be a factor but with Souths he wants term.

Reynolds was the one who went to the media first about the negotiations.

Bunnies caught in the headlines

Souths blinked. And whatever spin you may read elsewhere, it’s the reason they are in the middle of a public relations disaster with Adam Reynolds.

For at least a year-and-a-half, Souths were readying themselves to make a two-year offer to their skipper. He would have had to have swallowed a pay cut of $500,000 over two years, but he would have been able to stay at Redfern.

Souths’ decision to keep one favourite son, Alex Johnston, after a public protest has potentially cost them another favourite son.

The Cowboys were ready to splurge $1 million on Johnston. It would have eased the stress on Souths but, to his credit, Johnston wanted to stay put. Be certain this is not Johnston’s fault.

Salary caps are done at least two seasons in advance. Under previous boss Shane Richardson, Souths worked some three years in advance. He was meticulous.

Souths were well aware of the cap situation 18 months ago. To offer Reynolds a two-year deal at a reduced level, they had to let a couple of players go. Johnston was one. Corey Allan was the other. Allan has since joined the Bulldogs. Those moves would have given Souths a cap buffer of about $1 million, depending on who you listen to, over two years – enough to fit in Reynolds and still have money to help extend Cody Walker’s stay.

Instead of holding firm, Souths boosted their wing stocks by keeping Johnston and doubled down by signing Josh Mansour. It was a decision that ate up $1 million of that money over the two years. The other part of the plan was Dane Gagai leaving the club. That is happening.

The hard decision was always Johnston. Souths told him of their intentions well in advance, unlike the situation with Reynolds. Souths now have other players on their roster who they could move on to clear a path for Reynolds.

Half truths

The suggestion that Reynolds is carrying an injury is hard to get a grip on. Everyone I speak to says Reynolds’ back is not a problem. During the past three years, he has hardly missed a game (playing in 77 of a possible 82) and I don’t believe he missed any one of those five games due to a back problem.

The sad part about leaking the information about Reynolds’ back is that it affects his market value. Not wanting him is one thing, but poisoning the market is another.

South Sydney’s roster has been scrupulously put together during the past three years. The only error was Sam Burgess’ four-year extension, but no one knew about his career-ending injury. Despite that, Souths still have $9 million in the bank and no debt. They are the only club in the NRL in this situation. People forget where Souths were in 2004. Owner Russell Crowe doesn’t.

What Levy said looks like it’s true senior players and other players are absolutely filthy!

If we let Reyno goes it will destabilise us I think, it will affect the fabric of the club. Those that think it won’t are in for a rude shock I think!

The cruel thing’: Cook reveals ‘pressure’ Souths face if Reynolds walks

South Sydney hooker Damien Cook has opened up on his close connection to Adam Reynolds and warned the club of the consequences of letting the star No.7 leave the Rabbitohs.

Reynolds is set to test his value on the open market after shunning a one-year-deal from Souths for 2022 with an option in the club’s favour for 2023.

Cook revealed Reynolds was a big reason why he joined the club and stressed his importance to his own performance and that of the teams.

I have spoken to Adam and he was a big reason why I came to the club,” Cook said on The Big League Wrap.

“He was the halfback at the time and obviously Greg Inglis was another player there at the time.

“He was a big reason why I wanted to go across to the Bunnies and I enjoy playing alongside him as well.”

Cook believes Reynolds leaving would leave a massive hole in the side’s kicking game and put pressure on the other halves and his potential No.7 replacement to fill the void.

“He has got one of the best kicking games in the competition and for a player like that to leave our club that is going to put a lot of pressure on the next half who comes in and obviously Cody (Walker) and myself as well to make sure we can uphold that standard of kicking game that Adam has had for so long here,” Cook said.

He brings a lot of calmness across the group, especially for me as well and I know if he is outside me then I’m pretty calm out there on the field as well.

“I’ll back him all the way and I’d love to see him stay.

“It is the cruel thing about this sport that he may have to move on, but let’s hope they can all work it out somehow, but hopefully sooner rather than later for his sake as well.”

Reynolds has been linked with the Cowboys and the Broncos to help with both club’s dire playmaking stocks and James Hooper believes Brisbane should be willing to pay top dollar.

Any club that has got the money and if you are in a position like the Brisbane Broncos right now I would be opening the check book and paying him whatever is required to get a player like Adam Reynolds to the club,” Hooper said.

Steve Roach believes more needs to be done to keep long-serving local juniors like Reynolds at the clubs they started their careers at.

“We have got to change something here, this guy is a local junior,” Roach said.

“We can’t let local juniors go. There has got to be some sort of dispensation. I know there is some after eight or nine years, but it is not enough.

“This guy has been the heart and soul of the club. We have got to find a way to keep him at South Sydney. He wouldn’t look any good in another jumper.”

Thing is though, the Reynolds decision isn't being made with the futures of Cook and Walker in mind. They can say what they want, it won't impact the clubs thinking, they won't be around much longer either.

100% correct, after this year, if reynolds leaves, we have our grand final winning hooker, mamouzelos, half elias and 5/8 taafe being readied to take over, the time is coming were adams gone next year, elias or hawkins comes in, walker in the next 2 years, taafe comes in and cookie in the next 2 or 3 years and either reserve grade cook or mamouzelos takes over, we have an ageing roster players will either end their careers or move on,its inevitable.
Reyno looks to be broncos bound anyway,we cant afford a mill a year

What a legend Cookie is. Has his mates back all the way. Also love the quote from Blocker.

What a cluster! A good club never lets this shit play out in the open.

Hanging onto AJ has led us down this path - and alerted every other f**ker as to who Souths have coming through. They'll come knocking eventually, like they did with Suaalii.

Well done Souths fans.

Seriously big hit, that's the best you've got.Instead of debating intelligently you try creating some fictitious post from me that only serves to make you look bad.

Yeah I don't know WTF he's on about.

Arguing keep AJ has led to this is laughable, while ignoring the cripples we've signed like Milne, and Burns?

Then blaming the fans when its the front office who actually make the decisions???

And all this coming from someone posting in this same thread last week that putting rookies in the halves would kill the club???

WTF?

Adam R was a rookie once, it didnt kill the club, just as when taafe hawkins and elias eventually take over.
What big hit is saying is that we have 3 very talented halves that other clubs will be looking at and making offers for, offers we may not be able to match.
We dont want to lose them, if it means reynolds wont love the club, and take the deal, and he leaves, why is that the clubs fault? Maybe its just the time, and yes its disappointing.

I don't have a problem with that idea, my issue is that he created a fake post and attributed it to me (although he has now changed it after getting called out on it).
