From what I've seen the HIA assessment is a big one. Our fans booood a cowboys player who was legit injured a few years ago.

Why Can't such assessments move off the ball out of the play? They bring in all these rules for the game to flow. Yet someone gets cramp or a knock to the head and play stops for minutes

Player welfare comes before our entertainment. Cramps sure but the HIA stuff takes priority. We can't be turning our players into potatoes when they retire.

We can't no but what is moving them 10 metres to the side of the field going to do?

Is Craig Gower involved with us in any capacity this season ? He was there on Saturday night, wearing the latest polo worn by players and staff. Was thereabouts around the tunnel watching intently before sitting up in stand adjacent to where all NRL players were seated during NSW Cup. Could have just been an interested spectator?

I think he just gets the VIP treatment. He mentioned during the promo for his fight night that he was going down to train at the panthers academy sometimes, working on his fitness etc not training with the team.

Like when panthers got knocked out of the semis vs the broncos, when milford and oates decided that headbutting each other was better than tackling whare, deadset we win that game if the ref doesn't pull up the play, i get that they hurt each other, but as a fan your gutted that we watch a contact sport, and see refs pull up plays or stop time when the opposition pull up for cramps

Pretty much. There's definitely a distinction between serious and non serious injuries. You'll also see refs be more cautious after letting play continue when a Cows player had a broken arm or leg a few years ago.

Take the example above. Both are behind the play. You can safely let play go on atleast to end that set.

A few years ago. The game in Canberra where the halves backed up from SOO. Canberra had a penalty against them. We took the 2. Were lining it up and the ref blew the whistle so a Canberra player can be patched up.

He needs to be patched up but why can't play continue. Let Nathan have the kick. Get everyone back for the kick off then call time off if he is still getting treatment?

That is the stuff I boo at. Lack of common sense

All you want is consistency, not sure it is achievable, but in an ideal world the match officials applying common sense and being consistent.

Cowboys Round 1 despite there poor 2020 they have a new coach in Todd Payton who did good things as interim coach of the Warriors in the Covid interrupted 2020 season.

On paper, at full strength they are dangerous opponents.

Call him an unofficial consultant. He will pop in throughout the year to help out.
His role could expand later on if things change.
