Any chance of the Roosters bumping their average up to 20k when they move into SFS?Updated crowd figure for Roosters-Knights of 14710.

You'd be better bringing them over here to Perth so the Tigers diehards can still support them when in Sydney then letting the next generation become dogs or eels fans. But wont happen no kuhonas or vision in the NRL.The problem for Wests is they'll never have a fixed home, thus making it hard for them to zero in on a particular region of Sydney. Having the Bulldogs splitting the Magpies/Tigers fans doesn't do them any favours. It would be better to absorb the Magpies side of the merger into the Bulldogs and the Tigers side into the Eels.
Strong Bulldogs and Eels teams averaging 25k each will do more for the game than the current scenario. The only way either club can achieve this is if the Wests Tigers are disbanded and there's a serious marketing push by Bulldogs and Eels to claim Magpies and Tigers territory over the next 20 years.
If the weather is fine. Anything under 20k would be pretty disappointing. Is it wrong to expect 20-25k for Knights v Tigers this Sunday?
Tigers generally bring a lot of fans to Newcastle, knights coming off a win, Sunday footy and our first home game since July
If they were the Western Sydney Tigers then they would be marketable. Generic slang names like "Wests Tigers" don't belong in professional sport. It's alright for fans to casually refer to the team as "Wests" , but it shouldn't be the official name of the club. You'd be better bringing them over here to Perth so the Tigers diehards can still support them when in Sydney then letting the next generation become dogs or eels fans. Alternatively if they set up home at Commbank or a new Liverpool stadium then there is no reason that they cant be successful if ran well. They should have called themselves Western Sydney Tigers when they merged!
Souths moved across the city and draw a fanbase to games in a sht stadium so no reason Tigers couldnt build a good attendance at Commbank if it became home.
Southport Sharks (now a VFL team) have as big a club as anyone. 55000 members. it means not much, other than they are a big social club. Do the southport vfl team draw huge crowds, Nope. Good chance that a lot of the members arent aware they play a sport. There is no catchments in junior QRL, all you're doing is pointing out how much of Rugby League town Brisbane is.
And having a large Leagues Club is a poor metric. Cairns Brothers have a bigger Leagues Club then the Broncos, for example.
Suddenly jettisoning the Wests Tigers because Eastern Suburbs has a pokie den, it's @T-Boon levels of dumb
Sounds like a win/win situation and then a new club can replace the WT.The problem for Wests is they'll never have a fixed home, thus making it hard for them to zero in on a particular region of Sydney. A Gold Coast Sharks AwFuL club would have been better than the shithouse Gold Coast Suns abomination they put together. It would have been great public relations to promote a local club with 55k members to compete in AwFuL. Opportunity missed by fumbling and bumbling AwFuL. Hopefully Redcliffe can cash in on being the first BRL club to play in the NRL. I'll be supporting The Dolphins and the Cowboys.Southport Sharks (now a VFL team) have as big a club as anyone. 55000 members. it means not much, other than they are a big social club. Also. There’s quite a few teams that would go before the tigers if supporter base was a metric. And if the tigers go up the ladder they’d jump up. https://www.roymorgan.com/~/media/files/findings pdf/2020s/2021/september/8804-nrl-supporters-june-2021.pdf?la=en
Also that poll shows how fickle people are.
Yes. It makes Bulldogs and Eels more profitable and stronger, while allowing a BRL powerhouse club to strengthen RL's stranglehold on the Brisbane market. It's important to have strong and successful Bulldogs and Eels teams sucking up all the corporate dollars and media coverage so that the Gin Wine Spirits Giants are driven into the ground because people like a winner.Sounds like a win/win situation and then a new club can replace the WT.
Unless it's changed this year the council gives them a rent free deal at Leichhardt
A simple fact was stated that CommBank is NOT the Tigers home ground hence the mediocre turnout & what do we get .
The usual RL bashing by the AFL fan .
Roosters got 17.5k against the titans in 2013I thought it was a great crowd, how many Sydney teams would get 18K+ against the Titans in a regular season game, not many I'm guessing.
The NRL need Parramatta, St George and the Dogs to do well in a season, crowds home and away averages in Sydney will be lifted by thousands.
Roosters, Manly, Penrith and Cronulla bring nothing crowd wise (Especially away support) when doing well!
That was a great crowd also but some perspective is needed.Roosters got 17.5k against the titans in 2013
Whoops
You would like to think they will pi$$ that in ..Any chance of the Roosters bumping their average up to 20k when they move into SFS?
16901 on a Thursday night with rain threatening is not to be sneezed at. Parra got 1300 more on a fine Sunday arvo.I thought it was a great crowd, how many Sydney teams would get 18K+ against the Titans in a regular season game, not many I'm guessing.

The name in the beginning was a compromise. However these days Wests Leagues Club Ashfield owns 90% of the joint venture, and thus if anything it's the Tigers part of the name under threat. Tigers is a strong brand in the sport, though. If they were the Western Sydney Tigers then they would be marketable. Generic slang names like "Wests Tigers" don't belong in professional sport.
