The Game 2022 Crowd Watch

Yes obviously RL has more fans in total but we are simply comparing the Swans with a single RL club. 95% of those watching the Swans wood be Swans fans, but most of viewers of that game would not follow Parra. It is impossible to work out exactly but you would need to divide the NRL ratings by five at least.
5 at least lol

of the 360K who watched Parra & Souths in Sydney
id say 2/3 would have followed either club & 1/3 were neutrals... & Im sorry
not every veiwer who watched the swans were all swans fans either...

showing without doubt
the swines are not even close to being anywhere near the biggest club in sydney

As much as they are our mortal enemies, I've got to give the Bulldogs fanbase credit for yesterday's great crowd at CommBank.
I was shocked at how many Bulldogs fans turned up considering they had nothing to play for.
I'm sure this has something to do with the fact they were attending a great stadium.

Yep. That’s what great venues do, they make it a great experience and therefore more than just the game. Why tigers and dogs should also be based fulltime at commbank.

So seriously at the new Allianz if that game from saturday was played

Apparently it got 15k at the shitty old scg

Would it have got 20k? With all those pattern seats and lower bowl back seats all full @24k Allianz might look pretty good most weeks

15k is a typical crowd for Roosters v Tigers in recent times. Last time they got 20k was back around 2010-11 when we were doing well.

Broncos v Eels is doing well for a Thursday night game. Will be 25-28k I reckon. Waste of a big Friday crowd but the TV ratings will be awesome, at least...

Have you seen ticket prices? Only the wealthy can support the Broncos!
Lord forbid you should want to take the whole family and not sit in the gods!
agreed they need to slash the ticket prices around the whole league. it's not even their main source of revenue anyway. bigger crowds makes for a better broadcasting product

Eels have got it right with a free kids membership with every Adult GA membership. That should be the min all clubs playing in spare capacity stadiums are doing.

In the mid-90s they had a few Monday night games with free entry (I think it was a McDonald's cross promotion) and they got crowds of around 35k to the old SFS. One of them was the game with the Darren Junee try for the roosters. Unfortunately, the crowds were usually neutral.

Bronx Nation is a joke. Should sell their games out given they monopolise the whole city.

PR is correct. With good pricing for sideline seats we would get far bigger crowds. Even level 7 is $540 + fees for 2 adults and 2 children to sit on the sideline.

When prices were fair we averaged 40-43k, when prices were better, we averaged 33-35k.

Rounds 14-21 in '96. Bumper crowds for each game, at a time when rugby league was in crisis. It can be done.
One thing they could look at is away team fans in Sydney. If you've already forked out $350 plus for full membership finding $80 other weekends to watch your team away can be difficult. They need to offer a heavily discounted ticket to full members of away teams, or even better reciprocal membership agreements.
Then they could set aside a specific area or stand for those fans, creating more of an atmosphere. It should not be beyond realistic expectation to attract 15k home fans and 5k away fans to a Sydney v Sydney team game in these new stadiums. At the commbank stadium game I went to there was around 20k eels fans and 8k Panthers fans, atmosphere was amazing!

On a positive note, it is good the see 'Allocation Exhausted' for the Roosters v Rabbitohs at the new Allianz, yet the Wallabies and Matildas still have plenty of availability the following 2 nights.
Small victories.
I can hear a loud typing noise...

I think it's coming from Mosman...

It’s sad to see a game that prides itself on being the sport for the lower class and battlers pricing out those exact same people. I know it’s a business and they will always go for maximum profit but I still lament our game forgetting who it was that made the game what it is.
