Dogs V Broncs 9K
Massive unders for Storm-Souffs - that will get closer to 20K imo. First home game of the season and no restrictions this year.

Dogs v Broncos 9K probably overs. 6-7K max, even if its first home game. Trash timeslot

This would have been the perfect game for the dogs to take to Belmore

Would get at least double that predicted crowd

taking it one step further , it should have been the game in QLD , so a 5.15pm kickoff like last week. More likely parents will take their kids with a game finished @ 7pm

Then the Dogs & Broncs in Sydney at 3pm on Saturday
Belmore being the perfect venue for a crowd of around 10K

I should be doing the draw I reckon 😉

You would like to think they will pi$$ that in ..

If NRL gets serious and schedules properly for the new SFS they will easily
You would think an opening home game against anyone would get 40k.. then 2 weeks later a home game against Souths would get 40k .. then Anzac day will get 40k.. Thats 120k and you only need 240k to average 20k
We really need to do more to get kids to attend games. There are too many fat f**kers at games tucking into pies. Time to start running RL clinics at primary schools with free tickets provided to kids who participate.

The name in the beginning was a compromise. However these days Wests Leagues Club Ashfield owns 90% of the joint venture, and thus if anything it's the Tigers part of the name under threat. Tigers is a strong brand in the sport, though.
It has to change to Western Sydney Tigers if they want the club to grow and draw support from abroad.

Pricing tickets to encourage taking the kids would be a start! Should be $5 GA and $10 any other seat.

Up against a big game over the road which usually sucks 5k out. 15k will be a good result. Should have had a home game last week when there was nothing else on (and a long weekend) but no matter, crowd will still be pumped for a non-Sunny Coast home game.

haha dont be silly, far too logical to think you'd play in Melbourne before the AFL kicked off! Or not in Townsville during monsoon season.

This is what I don't get.
Why do we keep making the same mistakes, season after season?
Dumbarses.

Because the NRL dont give a sht about fans attending or clubs becoming independently sustainable? Quite happy for them to be reliant on the TV grant which is what the NRL cares about.

They should start the NRL a week before AwFuL and have the first game of the season played at Melbourne Rectangular Arena, broadcast live on Ch9 for maximum exposure. Brisbane has Magic Round and Sydney has the GF, so let's make Melbourne the centre of RL in the week leading into round one. Run clinics and have players meet and greet people in the CBD so that we can increase the game's profile. That we're here to make RL a major sport in Melbourne. Launching the season in Melbourne each year would be a huge feather in the game's cap and a direct shot at AwFuL.

The double header in Perth was hugely successful for rd1 a few years ago. Given that events are proving to be a major revenue opportunity for the NRL they could sling some cash to the clubs and have two or three double headers in week 1 before AFL kicks off in Melbourne and Perth or Adelaide. Aim for 30k plus at each game,
The remaining six games spread between Sydney (best time slots and two local clubs for attendance) and Qlnd Would be a way to make a big statement that NRL isnt just a two state comp!

Thurs night Broncos v Dragons
Fri Night: Brisbane: Dolphins v Titans, Sydney: Roosters v Souths
Saturday double header: Melbourne: Bulldogs v Canberra, Storm v Manly. Sydney: Eels v Tigers
Sunday double header: Perth/Adelaide: Souths v Cowboys, Dragons v Warriors Sydney: Panthers v Sharks
Knights Bye
Something like that.

Tomorrow night is one of the five biggest AFL games of the year. 100k in the area makes getting in/out difficult on a school night. Just have it ANY OTHER NIGHT THIS WEEKEND. Ridiculous.

The AFL aren’t without their own problems. They were gloating about 80k showing up last night but only 58k did. Of course this is a crowd that we would dream of, but the post pandemic crowd decreases are not isolated to RL.

The NRL did start a week before the AFL season this year (and has for many years).

The Storm will be lucky to get into the teens tonight, playing them against this traditional fixture is dumb dumb dumb.
