I’m meant Newcastle and Canberra don’t get home PFs.

Yes they do. We got a home preliminary final against Souths three years go.

In any case, why should a team outside of Sydney play in Sydney if they have earned a home preliminary final?

So why does NQ get to play a PF on their home ground?
To me that is totally unfair to the rest of the teams in the finals. Nobody else gets this privilege. Their ground holds 25k, make them play at Suncorp - home state, the same as the rest of the teams except Melbourne which is also wrong.
No team should play a PF on their home ground!
A couple of good seasons and these Penrith crazies are out of control

I understand what you are saying, and I did not suggest anything regarding Penrith, but prelim finals should be at neutral venues not at home grounds. I think you will find that the Raiders and Knights get home PFs, so you give 4 teams an unfair advantage in the second last weekend of the season.
How many opposition fans would be at Townsville, Auckland, Melbourne or Brisbane. Home ground advantage and influence in a PF is unfair!
you're an idiot

He is wrong though. Canberra hosted a prelim against Souths three years ago
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought the Raiders got an exemption to host it in 2019 but Bruce technically still isn't eligible to host prelims. In other words they were allowed to host it as a one off, but still aren't eligible to host future prelims, and would need to seek another exemption to host another.

BTW, I'm from Canberra, support the Raiders, and even IMO Canberra shouldn't be allowed to host prelims.

Bruce doesn't meet the minimum standards and arbitrarily lowering those standards sets a bad precedent that will, and has, lead to negative outcomes for the league and sport as a whole. Furthermore, the ACT government should not be rewarded with big events, and the tourism they draw, when they refuse to invest in a stadium that meets those standards.

Nah it's permanent. They changed it after 2016 when raiders were going to be forced to play that prelim at SFS but they lost week 1.

It has nothing to do with Penrith. I just don't think it is right for teams to have home PFs.
Home week 1, home city week 2, neutral venues Week 3.
Even the revered FA Cup has both semis played at Wembley.

20,838 for a semi final is garbage. Especially after their success - imagine the crowds they’d bring if they had a decade of missing the finals.

Just after bleating about their 40k members, but that’s what happens when you buy memberships for your teapots, armchairs and dead dogs

Welcome to the NATIONAL rugby league lol. Yeh it makes total sense for a team to play 1300kms from their city Lol

Nth Qld V Parra / Canberra
Townsville
sellout in hours this one .... will they erect the extra seating like they did for the origin last year & get the capacity up to 27500?

Penrith V Sharks / Roosters / Souths
Accor
Maybe 45 to 50K for any of those match ups

week 2
Friday
Parra V Canberra
Commbank ... sellout

Sat
Sharks V Roosters / Souths
where are we playing this one guys ?
I think it should be Allianz , 35K min & might push another sellout ( 3 in a row)
But I'd understand if the Sharks wanted it at Accor instead

probably 12k same as most other clubs. It’s almost like they have a big following nationally and not all their members live in melbourne. Lol
