Give it a rest Perth Red. You know nothing about Penrith or the people that live here. The Leagues Club is set up to support Rugby League in the area, and the profits go to the football club. They are basically one entity with one Board. Your continual bashing of Leagues Clubs is tiresome.

The SFS is a beautiful ground but give it 6-8 weeks next year, the novelty will undoubtably wear off and the Roosters will be back to pulling in 10-13K for a regular season fixture give or take.
I will never, ever understand this sentiment.

Nobody involved in the stadium, our code or others, would have built the venue with the expectation that each game would attract a full crowd.

It isn't a crime if a game doesn't attract a full house either.

@guyver78 This afternoon you were screaming "all well and good but WHO'S GOING TO PAY FOR IT"...

Then a few posts later this is among your suggestions:
1. lower the prices of tickets, especially rubbish seats behind the dead ball line.
The NRL and/or its clubs or venues certainly aren't going to pay for it if there's very little money coming in.

He really has no idea

I had the conversation
I am sure you did about if we played at Parra, whether we would renew memberships.

Most in my circle wouldn't, The club knows this and makes to much pre and post game to move

On a temporary basis I would renew my tickets, but would have to think hard if it was ever permanent!

3 things you could do to double your crowds everywhere almost immediately.

1. lower the prices of tickets, especially rubbish seats behind the dead ball line.
2. Play 1 game Friday night, 1 on Saturday avo and the rest Sunday afternoon at 3pm as it used to be.
3. Simply play less games
This is how it should be. TV won't allow it though. Everyone's scared of overlapping games.

Out here in Penrith Saturday night is the favoured time due to the amount of junior sport played in the district. Lots families attend this time slot!

No they wouldn't. They made the finals a few years ago and didn't use it.
they've used it about 3 times in the last 6 years
they can politely , or impolitely told

to eff off
they are never going to require a venue that size to use & thats even with the swines involved

the game against them in rnd one this year attracted 23K

the ends at accor need to be brought up
end of

It was used in Round 1 last year, and prior to that, not since the 2016 finals.

So once in the last six years.

We need to be careful with Accor

If Souths leave we need dogs and tigers to make it a full time home base

Trust me that f**ker Sheppard the giants chairman wants accor for the giants in 2030 and beyond he will keep it oval if it kills him

And if it has f**k all NRL content why wouldn't the giants get it
seems that the best way to get an upgrade is for teams to not play there until it is upgraded

That’s exactly right. All I’m simply saying is that bigger, newer stadiums do not attract better crowds how people sometimes think.

That’s right, rugby league clubs do not make anywhere near enough money to pay or contribute to any stadiums so it makes no difference.

All I was simply doing was throwing a few very quick solution IF the NRL/Footy Clubs really wanted to increase crowds. There are Ofcourse other ways but the 3 examples I mentioned were just 3 that popped into my head quickly at the time.

Forget about it fellas, so long as the TV
Is paying for the game crowds or game experience for the fans really isn’t that much of a priority for them. So long as it more or less looks somewhat OK on TV, NRL execs aren’t going to be fighting these battles for us.

At the end of the day TV revenue will still far exceed even an average NRL crowd of say 20K in a season, which would be awesome by the way. It’s just not a good return on their investment.

Crowds have really remained more or less the same for the last 10-15 years. The slight average increases or decreases you see in some years are just due to either the better crowd drawing teams winning and/or a more favourable schedule for the better crowd drawing sides.
