Klemmer still in Fitler’s naughty book.
Joey and Klemmer don’t get along tho?
Surprised Joey didn’t push Klemmer’s case and name him in his 17 but he did include Dsaf.

I dare say the reasons Klem isn't in the NSW squad are similar/the same that he's never been named our captain. Seems to do his own job well and professionally, but that's the limit of it. There's a lot of smoke around him just having a poor attitude off the field - but people will keep calling for it based on what he does on the field I guess.

I'd love to know the real Klemmer off the field. I don't picture him to be a poor trainer or anything, he'd be one of the fittest props in the game.

He was the one yelling instructions to the team in the huddle after our last try too. He's certainly a leader figure, even without the 'C' next to his name.

What is going on? Friz over Martin is crazy too...

I think people really rate what the Saifitis bring. Very old fashioned but Origin needs first hit up prop like that I guess. Weird but very happy for Jacob.

Remember Josh Papalii chasing a player and ankle tapping him on his way to the tryline ?

Klemmer by contrast watches them

That's the difference.

That's your example? That one time Papali’i chased down a player for an ankle tap? Both players have had decorated decade long careers, and your opinion is based on that one play.

The call-up for JSaf is a surprise at this stage but I’m pleased for him and I hope that being around the Origin setup will help him grow as a player. He’s always had it in him to take it to that level so hopefully he gets a taste and brings that level back to his club footy.

ah no. That was an example only, but perfectly illustrates the difference between the 2 players.

As suggested before, Klemmer goes through the motions.

Total pro, love the bloke and we'd up shit creek without him - but he does miss those 1%ers they often talk about that separates the good from the great.

Watch Klemmer closely and you will start to see it, and I could be wrong but I reckon the selectors see it also.

This WAS Klemmer

Klemmer now - this always stands out to me, The video start at 1 min 57 sec is
where the example is - note his attitude defending his own line.

The shorter his hair, the better he goes.

I just looked up some J Saifiti stats and it's kind of startling how he's in the conversation for Origin.

ZERO tackle breaks. For a front rower that's a little depressing. Just indicates he's quite easy to handle.

Also he's averaging the least metres per game in his last 3 years. 80m-odd this year and last two were over 100m.

I also fear (if he plays) that his lack of dominant tackles and his non-dominant leg tackles will be exposed at that level. I don't know any other prop who makes as many leg tackles as him, which put us on the back foot so often.

I can only think he might be chosen for the same reason his brother was, finds his front and quick play the balls for a big man. Other than that I have no idea why he would even be the orange boy.

Klemmer would look like a dinosaur surrounded by the speed & quality of Origin middle forwards. Haas, Paulo, Papalii, Big Tino etc would run rings around him. He's been our best prop this year only because of whatever's going on between the ears of the Saifiti's, but I don't think anyone outside of Knights fans think he's still Origin quality.

Jacob won't play, he got a spot in the extended squad off his brothers past Origin performances. Hopefully it kicks him back into gear.

J Saf is a joke selection. Quite a number of props going better than him - probably half a dozen at least.

now he is in camp hope he takes a lot from it.
i had a look around and there really aren't alot of prop options for NSW. The other options are Moses Leota, Stefano Utoikamanu, Junior Tatola and Toby Rudolf. Leota and Utoikamanu have missed significant time due to injury, Tatola was concussed last week and missed this weeks game and Rudolf is average

It's not like JSaf had to go make 180m, 7 tackles breaks and 43 tackles. He just needs to take the first hit up off kick offs and set restarts and get up quickly to play the ball.

He is a cog in a game plan. I think he will do just fine.

Klemmer the obvious choice. Leota and Utoikamanu both playing far better. Hell, Josh King has played better.
