Makes you wonder why Fox continue to pay them more money?
Are you sure of that for certain? comparisons can be complicated by the fact that the afl have more games to sell than the NRL and their games go for longer and therefore occupy more airtime. The issue is further complicated because we don`t really know the details of the deal between Foxtel and the NRL. Either way given historically how the NRL outperform the afl on Foxtel we should be being payed considerably more.
One thing that does give me heart is that Foxtel have made it clear that if an expansion team`s business case stacks up, they are willing to upgrade their deal, as witnessed by the extra $15m per year they are tipping in for the new Dolphins franchise.

Of course they are

‘The AFL said the deals with Foxtel, Telstra and Seven were together worth $946 million over the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Seven is paying just under $300 million of that figure.”

Foxtel are paying no more for 17 clubs than they paid for 16 clubs. Dont believe the Vlandys spin.

the derps & misses deal with foxtel is only marginally bigger in 2023 & 24 then the original deal it signed for 2017-22 for about 213 mill a year
that came from foxtel itself

they'd know id think

the 946 mill over 2 years is also smoke & mirrors as we all now know
the deal in reality is about the same as 2017-22

don't make me get ol krusty out , you know i will

1.9 bill 2018-2022

2 bill for 23-27

wrong again clown
haha you were the one who broke the news that fox are paying exactly the same 2023- as they did 2017- !

you know as well as I do the extra is from skynz and acheived due to finally some competit ion for the rights and from contra increase from 9.
Expansion hasn’t brought any money into the game which is staggering, but we’ve been through it a thousand times on the other thread.

Are you including the naming rights in that figure. From what I can read in the second paragraph of the article you posted it says that some sort of arrangement with marvel stadium is included to show case 5G technology, that by rights shouldn`t be included in TV broadcast rights comparisons.
The NRL`s naming rights deal with Telstra haven`t been finalised yet but all reports are that they are very close to signing. An article from October last year, which quoted Telstra executives, suggested a $90m 6yr deal with the NRL was close to being finalised. V`landy`s disputed this and said " there were a few more boxes to tick " and it made me wonder whether given the strength of the recent Australian sports codes record breaking deal by the NRL with the crypto currency trader Swyftx and the record breaking ratings from last years finals series he and Abdo were actually pushing for more.

forget the article about the awful , they're not getting anymore

they requested ch 7 pay way under the original average annual amount in 2020-21-22 & then way above the average annual amount in 23-24
just so they could sprout they're getting a huge increase for those years . Its just manipulation of the figures & nothing more.

Learn to read, I said the fox deal was no bigger and expansion hasn’t brought in any more cash, which it hasnt. The only extra cash is from sky nz and had nothing to do with the dolphins coming in. Sht you are hard to teach.
You've been saying the deal is no bigger.. period .. you're a NFI twat
this is clear to all now

No I haven’t, now you’re just lying. The deal is $12,8mill a year cash and contra increase sky nz and $5mill contra a year nine more according to the reports that have been published. Fox have paid nothing more, nine have paid no more cash. Expansion has brought in nothing. Staggering and hard to believe I know! Anyway this is ratings thread, we’ve done this to death in the deal thread. I‘ve given you the facts enough times continue to ignore them if you must, for full details read the 2023- deal thread if you dare lol.
