2022 NRL ratings

Timmah, lamback I think for once you might have actually interpreted him wrong.
I think PR in this case was being genuine/ironic, 85 000 at 5.30 in the morning is bloody good, and as Bulldog2020 says I bet that doesn`t include Kayo or as Red said himself those who watched it later. So double it, 200 000 - now were talking.
i think you're being conservative , if 85K watched live on foxtel then 150K watched live with kayo added & probably that many again at some point after the game ended during the day. I watched on kayo at 10am when i got up haha

Haha nrl fans dont care about their national team :)
not sure if they capture everyone including those watching later in that? I watched it last night for example. Be good if they did an end of week tally of all ways of watching in this day and age.
nrl fans knew we would win in a canter ...in 2nd gear
nrl fans don't care about 2nd rate opposition which i think is all we will get in this tournament including your soap dodging mates clown

Mate it was on five o’clock in the morning. How many people are you expecting to watch TV at that time?
I was being sarcastic about those that continually run international rl down, Gould looking at you! And you baseline!!

be interesting to see what the total was after a couple of days.

England’s follow up victory over France was watched on the BBC by a peak of 1.5 million while matches featuring the home nations have unsurprisingly proven popular with a combined audience of 2 million tuning in to watch the matches between Tonga v Wales and Scotland v Italy. The total combined audience for matches so far is approaching an impressive 10 million.

Ratings for the 2022 Western Sydney Derby GF between Eels and Panthers (2.37m) were the lowest in history.

The most watched GF in history was the 2005 match between Cowboys and Tigers (4.1m).

Surely this is a sign that the Sydney clubs have fewer fans than those from interstate?

The NRL will fall further behind AwFuL if it continues to put the interests of Sydney clubs ahead of the sport. Keeping things the way they are will turn our game into a niche product like RU.

The 7% increase in viewers on streaming didn't make up for the loss of viewers OTA.

Or maybe people just aren't interested in watching events held in Sydney because its infrastructure is shit?

The all-Sydney GF between the Elmer Fudds and Sylvester Puddy Tats in 2021 at Brisbane's Lang Park drew 3.6m nationally, whereas the 2022 game at Stadium Australia drew just 2.37m. Obviously it's time to take the GF to Brisbane on a permanent basis as the country doesn't want to watch events held in Sydney's second-rate stadia.

This is poor quality trolling
$643m vs $402m circa 25-28 suggests rugby league is falling behind AwFuL. Ratings for our biggest game of the year were terrible.

It was only 20 years ago that Super Rugby was pulling bigger crowds than the NRL.

Look at what happened to their game!

This is where so called tribalism comes home to bite. Sydney fans don’t want to watch other Sydney teams in a gf and qlnd fans dont want to watch nsw clubs. You reap what you sew.

The only solution is to drop all Sydney clubs to NSW Cup and replace them with one neutral team that isn't based on tribalism. I have no doubt it would be a success like the Broncos and lead to all NSWRL clubs becoming redundant like the BRL. People want to watch the highest level of the sport. North Sydney Bears went from getting 10k-12k in the NRL to less than 1k in the NSW Cup. NSWRL fans are not any more passionate than fans of the BRL or any other competition.

what the forum court jester fails to mention is that racistball had the 2 largest markets in Australia involved in its biggest game of the year & that game delivered the lowest ratings in history & .. it was also outrated by 3 games of RL this year

but lets not let facts get in the way of a wank eh clown ?
