Nah he hasn’tDude youve been wrong on nearly everything in the entire thread.
cmon break down the tv deal
you yourself said 520 million and didn’t even question when they apparently pulled 120 million out of thin air
the figures make zero sense

I'll apologise to @Perth Red for doubting his claims about V'landys in 2020. Everything @Perth Red has said turned out to be true.I think you owe PR an apology. For ages you have been potting the bloke and yesterday proved he was right all along and you were wrong. Still can't admit it though, hilarious
So I`m assuming that $450m is your estimate of combined broadcast and non-broadcast revenue advantage that fumbleball ( or at least you claim ) enjoys over League.revenue gal upwards of $450million a year

The reasons for that are nothing to do with anything PVL did (AFL has teams in five states and had to relocate and house over 1000 people interstate during each season, not just the Warriors like NRL did) .how ?
delivering a better bottom line to the tune of 160 mill dollars in 2021-22
& the aflol still couldn't post a profit , or anything near one
Haha there’s no denying it, 180million reasons why he should go. but it does matter, it matters because it’s fcking $180million a year!you're a Vlandys hater & it wouldn;t matter what he did
where he did it
who he did it to
you'd whinge
No. Each league delivers similar dividends to their clubs. AFL clubs generate an extra $20m on average due to significantly higher crowds, memberships and sponsorship (each more than double that of an NRL club). So I`m assuming that $450m is your estimate of combined broadcast and non-broadcast revenue advantage that fumbleball ( or at least you claim ) enjoys over League.
Happy to be corrected if I`m wrong but if it costs fumbleball approximately $50m to run a club as opposed to approximately $30m to run an NRL club isn`t a good chunk of that supposed $450m used just maintaining the status quo.
Hahah scraping the barrel to justify a massive cock up that is going g to cost the game immensely for many years to come by diverting attention, so Vlandys. Why not mention afl states or something as well. But but but tv ratings.how ?

every genuine nrl fan should be frothing at the mouth today. Our game has just be right royally fcked over by Vlandys and his fox mates. The fact you dont seem to care I find very interesting and can only speculate why youre not frothing and keep making excuses or trying to divert the reality, rubbish
PR is frothing at the mouth like a rabbies infested hyena over this
& you're not too far behind him

It is funny, I really hate being right on this but can’t say I didn’t tell you so two years ago! Vlandys is a snake and I wouldn’t trust him with my dog. This is just the latest fubar this year from the arlc but by far the biggest and one that will cost the game dearly for many years to come.I think you owe PR an apology. For ages you have been potting the bloke and yesterday proved he was right all along and you were wrong. Still can't admit it though, hilarious
Have to disagree there. PVL rushed into signing a new long term deal without developing any competitive tension so virtually had to bend over and take what was offered by Nein and Fox. AFL outfoxed him by doing a 2 year deal then negotiating a massive upgrade when the problems with covid were behind them. Game set and match until probably 2025 when the NRL will look at a new deal which hopefully PVL is nowhere near.Your absolutely right here.
hell I dont even judge him on the tv deal. It was a good deal when signed, its just not as good as other deals.
I dont like a few things hes done - but the good overall for the NRL has outweighed any concerns Id have if I was a die hard NRL fan.
You would be in the right ballpark on the $50m running costs for AFL clubs. But the dividend from the AFL would be less than half of that, and ranges between $10-20m p/a depending on their equalisation calculations. That's similar to the $13m per year the NRL gives clubs to contribute to about 40% of the operational spend of $30m?
It's the memberships (quoted as 1.1m members this year) and attendances (31k per game) that would bring in on average an extra $15m or so per year to AFL clubs to fund operating costs. These are two important areas that are an opportunity for NRL to keep pushing, outside of the TV rights money, to close the revenue gap and continue to build all clubs ability to be profitable.
that’s ok, we all hoped he’d be a step up on other lame leaders we’ve had and he did a good job during covid. Sadly this outweighs hundered times any good he as done and arguably whilst others have lost battles with afl Vlandys has just lost the war.I'll apologise to @Perth Red for doubting his claims about V'landys in 2020. Everything @Perth Red has said turned out to be true.
That’s is my estimate of what the total revenue gap will be by 2025/6. That is a sht load of money they can spend on things that the nrl can’t.So I`m assuming that $450m is your estimate of combined broadcast and non-broadcast revenue advantage that fumbleball ( or at least you claim ) enjoys over League.

TV ratings that should lead to something like … hmmm I don’t know… maybe a much better TV rights deal?? You know one that doesn’t leave the AFL at least $500m better off in the 2020-27 period…you forgot TV ratings
gee
I wonder why ?
