Best ever crowd between Eels and Cowboys at old Parra stadium was 15,131 in 2006.

2nd best was 13,192 in 2001.

Rest have been under 13k.

They aren't a big drawing crowd that's why the NRL always send them to Darwin.

I will be there on Friday night but the weather is getting colder so i suspect some people will stay home.
crowds & stadiums have come a long way since 2001 , even 2006

I think it'll do a lot better then 14K
Parra have got 35K members
they'll have to start coming to games eventually

After last night (and the Roosters game and last year's Cronulla final) Accor is so underwhelming.

I hope we can come to some sort of agreement and play at Allianz full time.

Wests' allocation of Commbank games should be moved to Allianz too.

Then Wests play 5 at Campbelltown, 3 at Leichhardt, 3 at Allianz and Easter Monday at Accor. Solved.

That may even revive the largely dormant Tigers-Rabbitohs and Tigers-Roosters rivalries
You're 75% of the way there

Add St George to that mix. All games between those 4 clubs should be played at SFS going forward. That's 12 games every season if the all play each other twice.

The extra 3 games at SFS would give roosters/souths more scope to take lower drawing games away to other places whilst still giving sydney fans a full slate at SFS.

I hope so makes it a better atmosphere when there is a bigger crowd at Commbank especially.

There's not a lot of Gold Reserved available for the game, especially in the lower bowl, and Platinum is down to limited reserve as well which implies it is either selling really well, is taken up by a lot of members or they haven't released seats.

Hopefully it's one of the first two and there might be an above average crowd there on Friday at CommBank for the Cowboys game...

I went to the game in 1995 between them.

Saturday night in the middle of winter, pissin down rain and one of the shittest games of RL ever seen.

Official crowd from memory was 4.1k but i reckon it was 50% inflated............

Good times.

And how do you know this?
I dont? Started with maybe and obviously said in jest.
But neither do you.

Maybe instead of worrying about crowds for an expansion team in a different code everyone knows sucks, we should worry about the sorry state of a good number of Sydney crowds, people claim the dogs are one of the "big" Sydney clubs

Like seriously youre making fun of a 6k crowd by comparing it to a 10k crowd

Well if I was a Rugby League fan I wouldn't be watching dropball next door, simple as that.
Yes the Dogs have a huge fan base, but they weren't going turn up for a Titans game, so 10k is pretty good IMO, and if they played at Belmore they would've got 16k.
I'm actually surprised that they even got 6k LMFAO...

Who were the midgets playing? I'm assuming also an out of town team? Why 2 different bars?

And that huge fan base has been real quiet for a real long time now, maybe they've moved on?

10k is pretty good IMO, and if they played at Belmore they would've got 16k.

Really? Last time the dogs played the titans at Belmore they got 6,800

I hope you know when I referred to dropball I meant the afl?
If I wanna watch afl I'll go to manly Beach and watch all the seagulls fighting over hot chips same shit...

Sure, as would I
But what I wouldn't do is laugh at a 6k crowd compared to a 10k one, both are just as shite, but ones a universally known to be struggling expansion side in a foreign code, and the other claims to be a "big" sydney club in the games heartland

I wasn't old enough for 1995 unfortunately.

But I reckon this game in 2008 between Eels and Cowboys at Parra stadium was the worst and most boring game I have ever attended in my life.

It wasn't even like there was a shitload errors it was just both teams had deadset nothing In attack.

The crowd I reckon fell asleep in the 2nd half.

I will never forget it was most putrid Parra win and match I have ever seen.

I have attached David Middleton's report on the match summed it up really.

Exactly!

I was looking at a map the other night and realised the success of the AFLol comes from the fact that every team is a first-ring suburb bar Essendon.

That's why when Collingwood v Carlton v Richmond v Essendon v Hawthorn games always get big numbers, they market the inner-city rivalries well...even North Melbourne used to get big crowds before they became the Wests Tigers of the AFL.

Whilst Sydney is more spread and divided by water, and some of or original tight-knit to the CBD clubs like Glebe, Annandale and Newtown are gone, we have four of our nine Sydney clubs as remaining first-ring suburbs: Easts, Souths, Wests and St George Illawarra (just)

Norths would be another, as would Newtown, wnich is important as if they were to return as Perth and Adelaide respectively, we could turn them into our versions of Swans and Lions, where their huge historic bases will attend away games in Sydney as those AFL clubs' fans do in Melbourne. Norths obviously a lot more likely to return.

All of these teams should battle roughly every second Friday at the SFS. Make it a tradition and well-known.

Below example for when the teams are all not complete rubbish like half are atm

E.g.
R1 Easts v Wests (25-28k)
R3 Souths v Easts (30-35k)
R5 Wests v St George (25-28k)
R7 Souths v St George (25-28k)
ANZAC Day Easts v St George (40k+)
R11 Souths v Wests (20-25k)
----Don't waste big games in Origin---
R18 Easts v Wests (25-28k)
R20 Souths v Wests (25-28k)
R22 Souths v St George (28-30k)
R24 Wests v St George (28-30k)
R26 Easts v St George (30-35k)
R27 Souths v Easts (35-40k)

Then the Western Sydney cluster of clubs can do the same across their stadia:
R1 Penrith v Parra (25-28k) Commbank
R3 Canterbury v Parra (30-35k) Accor
R5 Penrith v Canterbury (20-22k) Penrith
R7 Wests v Parra (25-28k) Accor
R9 Wests v Canterbury (20-25k) Accor
R12 Wests v Penrith (18-20k) Campbelltown
----Don't waste big games in Origin---
R18 Penrith v Parra (20-22k) Penrith
R20 Parra v Canterbury (28-30k) Commbank
R22 Canterbury v Penrith (20-25k) Accor
R24 Parra v Wests (25-28k) Commbank
R26 Penrith v Wests (18-20k) Penrith
R27 Canterbury v Wests (25-30k) Accor

Finally, for the outliers Cronulla and Manly, the NRL needs to hype up the Battle of the Beaches so it doesn't get 10k on a Sunday afternoon, and there we go, big crowds are on their way...

Will the NRL do it...no way!!!

Canterbury would be closer to the city than the St George area
