The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

They won the A League 6-1 over Melbourne City (absolutely no publicity around the game lol)

Because of the NRL game apparently their celebrations are at Erina Fair Shopping Centre. Dare say a few may leave that mid morning function around lunchtime for a dose of rugby league!

BTW the final drew 26k at Parramatta, which is only about the same as the Eels get against a Sydney club. It was Central Coast v Melbourne though so their plan to come back to the "home of soccer" in Sydney clearly backfired not selling out a 30,000 seat venue.

Was good to see them win though, a battler club like Cronulla (and my nominal A-League team)
6-1? Did the other team have a goal keeper?🤣😆

GA sold out but still a fair few seats available in parts of the upper deck on the Eastern side, most of those could easily disappear tomorrow but at worst it is looking like 18-19,000 crowd which is pretty close to 20,060 capacity.
And the A-League couldn't sell out the final.

Warriors absolutely smashing it and that result will get them back for the next one
Yet another careless presumption that a good crowd next time depends on a good result this time.

Warriors lost last week. Sold the stadium out this week.

Next game at Mount Smart against South Sydney looks a beauty. A loss to the Dolphins wouldn't have altered that.

Could you imagine a Tri-Series in NZ featuring the Kiwis, Tonga & Samoa running parallel to Origin?

You would comfortably draw 20K+ to all 3 matches and would do wonders for the Kiwis profile and NZRL bank account.

It would be brilliant, but needs to be a Four-Nations (or even 6 or 8 later on)

Add Fiji/PNG and one more and we get 2-3 games a week across the series

Also, remember the days when Easts-Canterbury was a big fixture...used to get 25k+ in the 2000s

36,526 in 2008

Now relegated to the Roosters' Central Coast game

6 nations. 15 games. 5 weeks. Ladder format.

Week 1: Australia vs Tonga & Samoa vs PNG @ Brisbane. New Zealand vs Fiji @ Rotorua.

Week 2: Australia vs Fiji @ Newcastle. New Zealand vs PNG & Samoa vs Tonga @ Auckland Eden Park.

Week 3: Australia vs New Zealand @ Melbourne. PNG vs Tonga @ Port Moresby. Fiji vs Samoa @ Suva/Apia.

Week 4: Australia vs PNG @ Townsville. New Zealand vs Samoa @ Christchurch. Fiji vs Tonga @ Suva.

Week 5: Australia vs Samoa @ Sydney SFS. New Zealand vs Tonga @ Wellington. PNG vs Fiji @ Port Moresby.

This game would be full if they didn't have a direct clash with all four Central Coast Rugby League fixtures this weekend.

4 games of Local First Grade all kick off at 2:30
WTF?
Each of the 4 games of Local First Grade would be lucky to have a crowd of 500

Yes but the local footballers, trainers and supporters couldn't go, which would have turned the 18k into 20k.

Just a bit strange IMO considering Wagga, Tamworth, Bathurst and Coffs all had no local footy scheduled on the weekend when the NRL rolled into town.
