Parra v Melbourne 21k
New Zealand v Newcastle 17k
Penrith v Brisbane 20k
Manly v Canterbury 16k
North Queensland v Canberra 19k
Cronulla v South Sydney 12k (sell out)
The v Sydney 33k
Wests v Gold Coast 16k

19250 is solid start above average for most first rounds

also the average crowd should be higher due to the being introduced would not surprise me to see the average go up to around 17k this year

Looking at Ticketmaster, I'd be surprised if Cowboys was less than 18K. The lower bowl is pretty much down to single seats (8.1K), Western Grandstand is meant to be full (4.4K) and I'd say half of upper bowl is sold at least (12.7K).

Wellington is starting to gain some momentum, Bays 16, 17, 18 & 36 are now open, whilst 25 - 29 appear to be sold out. Bays 30 & 24 are also selling well, whilst all other bays on sale have a scattering of sales. Possibly sitting around 10Kish at the moment.

Had hoped it would be a bit higher considering this was last year's beaten finalist, at home, against a perennial contender on a clear evening. Still, a respectable turnout, and the biggest opening game crowd in 3 years, since the Eels opened with 21,363 vs the Bulldogs at Commbank in 2020.

Guess there's a fair bit on at the moment with plenty of people forking out for Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Snoop Dogg and Backstreet Boys concerts over consecutive weekends, along with the cost of living pressures people are currently under.

Aside note from Perths Red spot on crowd estimate which looked poor on the screen but what the hell is wrong with music today and why would people go and watch the shit like Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Scoop Dog Dirt and Backentry Boys....thats not music thats hell.

Eels fans are fickle. Their team has let them down for nearly 40 years now.
If they have success, it will be a giant awakened.

It’s not a terrible crowd but it’s hard not to find it disappointing. Grand finalist last year against one of the perennial top teams in the comp. This is the sort of game that should draw a big crowd.

Having said that few games this year will reach that high on Thursday night.

Ed Sheeran is decent. Also this is the moment you became grandpa Simpson, we all get there eventually.

It's hardly "music today" when two of those acts became popular in the previous century.
