Bit hard to "sell something" which the State Government doesn't own. The grounds on which the SCG and SFS are part of a trust which is managed by the NSW Government. It is held (I believe) in perpetuity so it cannot be sold.
Homebush they could’ve sold

Already wasted 220 million to buy back the lease then they did nothing with the ground.

The main issue is no parking.

Accor while shit has better access and is where the people live

I just don't get this.
Allianz is the perfect stadium for tonight's game.
There are direct express trains to Central from Penrith with limited stops.
Then there is a direct light rail link to Moore Park.
What more do you want? Why would anyone want to drive to Moore Park from Penrith on a Friday evening in peak hour traffic and then be worried about lack of parking?
And you'd be playing in the more perfectly sized stadium for atmosphere for the anticipated attendance.
There is no end of whiners and excuses amongst RL fans as to why not attend games.

If (yeh, I know) the Eels were playing tonight, I'd have to catch a bus to Castle Hill, the metro to Chatswood, Sydney trains to Central and then the light rail to Moore Park. I'd rather do that than drive and look for parking.

I've just typed it into NSW/Sydney Trip Planner. Two options.
1 hr 14 minutes. Two buses and the light rail. $3.77 on the Opal card for the whole trip.
1 hr 18 minutes via the train option and the light rail. $4.78

It's not hard.

The other thing Penrith could have done is actually book supporters trains from Penrith direct to the city. Stopping at maybe St Marys, Blacktown, maybe even the obligatory Mt Druitt, then Parramatta and Strathfield.
It's actually a thing.
The Wanderers have done this many times in the past and was part of the game day ticket price.
It's actually quite shit that the NRL and clubs don't get together and organise this type of stuff.

Not sure, the people of penrith dont get rugba leeg.

Suncorp sold out in an hour.
4 finals on this weekend across the 2 codes all featuring an out of town team. Only one has had to give away tickets to avoid embarrassment. So Sydney RL.

Any sensible city would have free regular direct ltd stop trains from penrith to the best big stadium to get to. But hey it’s sydney so…
