The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Just need to Persist with games between the two countries at least one in each others backyard every year.
This is it. Both the Kangaroos and Kiwis are suffering from being out of sight, out of mind. The last time the Kiwis played Australia in New Zealand was 2018, which came off the back of a terrible World Cup campaign. Prior to that was 2014.

You then have a lack of meaningful matches between the two teams since the removal of the mid-year Test and Tri/Four Nations over the past 5 years, the fact that the likes of Tonga and Samoa's success has taken away some of the original Kiwis (and Kangaroos) very limited supporter base and just a lack of respect around the fixtures.

Hamilton heat map of sales. Black represents either sold out or 95% sold. The lightest grey represents less than 10% of tickets sold. Last night's 25% off code from the Kiwis has helped move some tickets in the main stand, especially in the more expensive bays, however majority of the crowd will be in the edges or behind the post.

The East Stand, they might as well close and move the handful of people from that side over to the TV side to actually make the TV arc look full.

Not sure if people walk up anymore in Hamilton, but that might be the only thing that will save this match. I'd say we'll get to 10K+, but how much more depends on late sales and walk ups.

Must be so deflating for the players to run out into an empty stadium.

Let's hope this tournament gains some traction in years ahead.

The best result would be a kiwis win....can't see it happening though.

Maybe Kiwis have had enough of Rugby's with both Warriors and All Blacks losing in the final(s)

PNG is selling similar to last weekend. North & East Stands are both sold out, Grandstand and Western Wings are both down to less than 100 seats. South Stand is the only place with any capacity.

In Hamilton, the cheaper bays in the main Grandstand have had some solid movement overnight, with Aisle's 20-21 & 12-13 both sold out, Aisle's 1-2 & 2-3 both more than 80% sold. Rest of the main grandstand has continued to fill out, though there is still plenty of capacity.

Garbage crowd - not usually a death rider, but there would be more people at the Bungendore Rodeo tonight.

No more internationals for Hamilton. This would have sold out in Townsville or Newcastle. The Gold Coast would have been a cracking atmosphere with a chunk of Kiwis too.

Yeah Ive never seen a NZ/Aus test crowd like that, let alone a championship final. Really awful, not sure if its the location, lack of promotion, ticket prices, this is an insult to International Rugby League.

5pm NZ is an odd KO time, you know this has the hallmarks of Ch9 dictating when this started.

Of course, who else would it be, FMD, I remember they stuffed it up years ago, putting the game at 9pm NZ team so they can have a full hours of news.

I did get the Grandstands mixed up, so the side that wasn't selling is actually behind the cameras, still terrible crowd.

The seats in the eastern stadium is looking directly into the sun, which makes sense the locals aren’t using it
