Unless they have withheld tickets for no reason Magic Round Saturday is sold out, not bad for a month in advance.
would be surprised if every ticket isn't sold well before the first ball is kicked
150K for the 3 days

which will actually bring the average down for 2023 lol

It will 100% sell out well before kick-off of the 1st game.

Let's just hope the NRL doesn't do typical NRL things, and f**k it up and move Magic Round just as it's started to take hold.

Still its a massive money spinner for the clubs and the NRL.

Everyone wins.

AFL gather round will bring in about 165k fans, half of what the AFL usually gets per round this year.

But again its a massive money spinner for the AFL also, nobody looses but the fans i guess.

I had my doubts when it was first announced , I didn't think it would work in Australia

I was dead wrong.
Its a great " community " event & enhances the schedule.
It adds
its good ..

ThAnks mate, I want to get into crowd predicting but not seeming very welcomed right now aha, but it's all goods. hopeFully I can learn the ins and outs of it alL from people here. And you are right, the Corporate sideline raRely fills itself out frOm members. But there's also the neW premium hospitality to consiDer aS well.

Yeh yeh, nice try. I am sure next you’ll tell us you have old copies of RLWeek in your toilet and a Brad Meyers poster on your office wall.

Move the date of magic round or move magic round to another city?

Move it to another city.

It's at a stage now where every day will be sold out weeks before kick-off. It would have happened last year if it wasn't for the floods. When the 18th team comes in, they can move the Bronco's game to Thursday night and potentially sell out 4 days straight (200k+).

Pretty difficult to guess that crowd on the GC with that sunlight but I reckon about 16000?

Not to another city in OZ. Take it to New Zealand and reward them, from the sacrifices the Warriors made during Covid..

its A tough choice mate.

keep it in Brisbane as a guaranteed money spinner or move it around as a tool for expansion in cities like Perth or Adelaide.

or rewarding New Zealand by playing it at Eden park or Christchurch new stadium.

If it isn't broken don't fix it.

I don't understand why you weirdos are so keen to change and/or move something that works.

Even if Brisbane wasn't Rugby League heartlands, it just has so many things in its favour for a multi-day sports festival.

Ideally if you were to pick the best place to hold something like Magic Round, you want somewhere with a venue that's between 40K - 60K, has good transport links, has established hospitality venues near by and is unlikely to have freezing cold weather during the event.

Brisbane having all the above, plus a strong RL heritage and a great rectangular stadium is just ticks all around.

If you held it in Melbourne, it's cold and you're stuck with either AAMI Park (which is too small) or Marvel Stadium (which isn't ideal for watching), Sydney could potentially work for Allianz, but definitely not Accor. For Perth & Adelaide you would have to play at Optus Stadium or Adelaide Oval respectively (Perth Oval & Hindmarsh are too small and a lot harder to get to) which are great venues, but not sure the weather works mid-year (I could be wrong, have only ever visited in the summer)

Here's a thought have a magic round in NZ,Melbourne,Perth,Adelaide. Have four magic rounds during the season lol...nice way to spread the gospel...
If and when the NRL moves to a 18 team competition you could have a regular 17 game season with another 3 magic rounds taking the total to 20 games.

magic rounds in Brisbane, Auckland and Perth.

Brisbane works best because you can ensure that each day features at least one Queensland teams.

You could do the same in Sydney though but not in Melbourne or Auckland.
