Round 3 crowd predictions
Sea Eagles vs Eels 11,000
Knights vs Dolphins 19,000
Roosters vs Rabbitohs 35,000
Titans vs Storm 13,000
Cowboys vs Warriors 16,000
Broncos vs Dragons 32,000
Bulldogs vs Tigers 16,000
Raiders vs Sharks 12,000
TOTAL: 154,000
AVERAGE: 19,250
The Sea Eagles put in a stellar performance in R1, got the R2 bye, play a long-term rival at home this week and the weather looks good. These factors mean Manly could pull more than its usual 4-figure Thursday night crowd at Brookvale.
Similarly, the Knights faithful will likely have enjoyed today's courageous performance and Newcastle always turns out in good numbers even when the home team has struggled in recent years.
The Roosters and Rabbitohs is the first big Sydney club game of the year and ticket sales look like they are progressing pretty well. It may not be a sellout like their last two games at the new Allianz, but anything over 80% capacity is a good result I think. Yours truly will be in the crowd.
Gold Coasters can be hard to predict, and I'm not really sure how the crowd will turnout for the Titans' first home game of the year.
The Cowboys have another late afternoon game which could affect attendances...then again it didn't in R1. I think there might be a bit of a dip though.
The Broncos have had a great start to the season and as the biggest club in the comp, if they continue in this vain, minimum 30k crowds should be on lock and we should be looking at the first 30k club average since the Broncos in 2018.
The Bulldogs at home after a ripper performance against the Storm should result in a good home crowd for what should be another win against the struggling Tigers. The grandstand seats 9k and is already down to single seats only.
Canberra at home for its first home game of the year. A bad start to the year and a less than optimal timeslot mean they may not get a great turnout.
