The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Agreed but housing affordability is driving people away from the inner city and further out west so there’s probably a greater number than now than what it was twenty years ago?
All the Melb AFL suburbs are in the first ring of suburbs bar Essendon.

What works is they have better PT for outer suburbanites

this is dull bait for your main rival mate.

Simply put, last night the Rabbitohs attracted a larger regular season crowd at Allianz than they have in a decade outside of the Easter match at Accor.

Fairly evident to me that Allianz is a better option for them going forward. You don't own the stadium.
After last night (and the Roosters game and last year's Cronulla final) Accor is so underwhelming.

I hope we can come to some sort of agreement and play at Allianz full time.

Wests' allocation of Commbank games should be moved to Allianz too.

Then Wests play 5 at Campbelltown, 3 at Leichhardt, 3 at Allianz and Easter Monday at Accor. Solved.

That may even revive the largely dormant Tigers-Rabbitohs and Tigers-Roosters rivalries

Sharks with another sell out today.

Just a great club showing how it’s done.
I do love how NRL take games on the road as alongside big crowds it's nice to see small jam packed stadiums as well such as today.
Shame we couldn't have like an NRL2 Minor League like they have with Ice Hockey in North America with AHL.

I was hardly serious making that comment.I agree the overwhelming majority of games are worth the price of admission.
Fair enough. I get a bit fed up with the number of posts belittling teams at the bottom end of the ladder. Likewise those saying if a team wins this week they could pull a good crowd next week, or that a team must keep winning for crowds to keep coming. It's hardly a ringing endorsement when RL fans on a RL forum think that winning is all the game has to offer.

If a one division 20-team NRL is the ultimate destination, there will have to be a change in Australian RL fan and media culture for the comp to realize the full benefits of expansion. Sports leagues that have relegation/promotion can better afford all the negativity because there's plenty of interest in the battle to avoid relegation.
