The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Ideal scenario is you have all clubs have multiple marquee/blockbuster games where you can bank on a good crowd regardless of their form.

Dragons, Tigers & Bulldogs won't always be bad, same Roosters, Rabbitohs, Eels won't always be bad.

The code should be trying to find ways of creating more, such as Rabbitohs v Eels to kick off Indigenous Round.

No way will the Eels take a home Derby to Allianz stadium.

All the way in the east, get f...ed.

Same goes for Panthers, both clubs would laugh at the suggestion.

You old enough to remember the finals packages from the early 90s pal? 35000 plus for manly v broncos at the sfs, heaps of country people would buy the packages and come for the weekend for semis. Promote it as a carnival, with these packages, it may have value.

It’s about an event, Parra and Pen are both happy to play in Bathurst and Darwin, lol. Anyway, could be a Tigers home match.

Went past Cronulla Leagues club today, and what ever they're building around the joint looks out of this world, it's state of the art construction, it really looks amazing.
Same can't be said about the oval though.

We are not in the 90's Pal, cannot believe i have to tell you this. hahaha

We are in the year 2023 with record crowd averages across the league.

Much higher than the 90's Pal.

And your 35k Broncos/Manly was 31k and it was for a Semi final.

Finals have very little to do with building regular season events.

''Parra and Pen are both happy to play in Bathurst and Darwin,''

That is an NRL directive, every team takes a game away. hahaha

The NRL is not going to force WS teams to play in the East for no good reason, i dont see a good reason at present.

All good man, just an idea.

Semi for manly v Brisbane in 93 was 38,432, but who cares about the facts hey

We finally cracked the 20K average across the whole season.

Trick is now making that the norm, and not having 2023 be an anomaly year.
Is that including magic as each game or divided? The list of actual home game crowd Avg’s is probably a stronger indication of each clubs home attendance fan base. Takes out the bigger on the road crowds and the smaller regional game crowds.

1. Broncos
Total Average: 33,793 (Suncorp and Gabba)

2. Dolphins:
Total Average: 24,064 (Suncorp, Redcliffe and Sunshine Coast)

3. Warriors:
Total Average: 22,368 (Mt Smart)

4. Knights:
Total Average: 21,312 (McDonald Jones)

5. Roosters:
Total Average: 21,135 (Allianz & SCG)

6. Rabbitohs:
Total Average: 19,651 (Accor & Allianz)

7. Panthers:
Total Average: 19,575 (Bluebet stadium)

8. Cowboys
Total Average: 19,175 (Qlnd country stadium)

9. Eels:
Total Average: 18,901 (WSS)

10. Storm:
Total Average: 18,264 (AAMI & Marvel)

11. Bulldogs:
Total Average: 17,358 (Accor & Belmore)

12. Titans:

The Wests Tigers, in partnership with Liverpool Council, have approached the NSW government with a proposal to build a 20,000-seat stadium in the heart of Liverpool CBD, with a view to making it the club's permanent home

1990 Broncos/Manly at SFS semi final was 31k.

So by your logic the NRL should force clubs to play at the SFS due to a finals game held there 30 years ago.

Brain dead take.

We did not have a venue in WS that could hold more than 30k in the 90's mate.

No good reason why a WS team would take a derby game to the east of Sydney, especially now that we have Commbank and Accor.

Location wise, makes sense for Wests Tigers to focus predominantly on South-West Sydney. It's where it's players come from and where it has the biggest supporter growth opportunities.

Liverpool is arguably a stronger satellite city to be based out of versus Campbelltown, although that argument has been slowly fading over the years as the Southern Highlands and Campbelltown region have grown.

I feel for the proposal to work, the Macarthur Bulls need to opt in and the Bulldogs need to be open to playing some games at the venue.

Been some movement in Townsville for opening game of the Pacific Championship.

Bays 124 - 128 in the lower bowl on the Eastern side are pretty much gone, same with 134 - 139 in the South.

Western lower has very little capacity as well, with the North moving, but slowly.

Extra rows have been put on sale for Southern & Eastern Upper. Some upper corner bays are moving to odd row sales.

I'd say we've past the 10K mark now for sales at the venue with a week to go.

Meanwhile in Port Moresby, I'd say less than 100 tickets have been allocated so far for PNG v Cook Islands.

I presume this is the site of the old Oasis development?

Positive signals from Eden Park. Large chunks of the lower North Stand are have been filled, and now they are selling into the corners. Upper East is also selling strongly with 3 of the 6 bays down to limited availability and others selling towards the back.

In the past few days, Lower East and South Stand have now been put on sale.

Two weeks out from the game, match is trending better than Tonga v Australia match at Eden Park in 2019 (25,257).
