Deserving of a suspension obviously but when compared to a couple of recent ones which were more blatant and people were suspended for less time I think it’s worth fighting

I think Saifiti was more at fault than Snowden but then again I'm not sure Snowden should have even had a case to answer, that one was such a rort.

I'd fight for a grading change but perverse is also right in that we're nobodies and the perception of the tackle is already that it was the most awful thing in the world.

I hope the club hire a KC and fight the grading, just like every other successful club does. Worst case scenario, he sits out one extra week.

Absolute joke of a charge.

How can you form intent in less than a second.

He was following the marker, and the runner was given an absolute hospital pass deluxe. He can't disappear.

If anyone should be charged its the dummy half for attempted murder.

Aren't our owners major tight parses? Will the fork out the cash??

What really pisses me off with this suspenion, not that it is necessarily 5 weeks as overall I think suspensions are too light, but, you have an absolute flog in NAS getting around intentionally dog shotting players and getting away with it or light suspensions, and here you have a player who had a split second to adjust his tackling style, the ball runner hunched approaching JSaf, and the collision which JSaf had his arms around in a tackling motion and it was the force of the impact that did the damage.

Intent should be a bigger issue (of which Saifiti had none) than final result really, but most people are simpletons and as much as I think we should challenge it, we will probably lose just on the basis of 'the other guy is really hurt'.

I keep hearing this recently. Wests have pumped millions into the club, including $10m of their own money for the Centre of Excellence.
Just what I've heard also. Hopefully Jacob does manage to get it downgraded to 3 weeks.

having been there, it’s really not that special, and it’s half finished and unkempt.

They cheaped out and cancelled the second story where the admin was meant to work from, so we are still split across the COE for footy and Wests offices for admin. And it shows in their disfunction.

also… they have made a profit from the club every year. I would contend that in a business like this you should be making profits when the business is doing well (ie winning games and filling stadiums) and losing money when the business is doing poorly. To make money when performing poorly means you are under funding the business… which might be a reason the business is performing poorly…

will be forever grateful to wests for saving the club, but it doesn’t mean I don’t wish they would actually invest to make us a power house.

It's up to the fans to punish them for it, really. And they will one day - when all the rusted-on old farts either die off or get sick of the rot. Hard to make money when no-one is watching... but they're still skating by on glories long, long past (by cutting costs, as you said).

It's kind of ironic... that all the most die-hard, long suffering supporters are, in some respects at least, preventing Wests having any incentive at all to invest in the club.

Yeah I stopped giving money to the club during the Brown years when they showed they didn't have any interest in winning and were treating the fans like an ATM.

Might change my mind if they ever look like a professional organisation in the future.
