It had its flaws, but the old points system was far more effective in this respect.

It only needs a minor tweak.

3rd and subsequent charges should never be a fine.

So instead of 2 weeks guilty plea or $3000 fine for early plea, you simply replace the fine with a 1-week suspension.

fines should only be allowed for first 2 offences of any nature.

it’s dumb that players rack up 5-6 charges over a year but because they like the change up their grubbiness they just keep getting fines

JFH only getting a fine for what was as blatant of a hip drop that you’ll see is a bit of a joke.
The Panthers appear to be very lucky when it comes to charges compared to some other teams/players.

NRL really need to stop dishing out punishments based on injury instead of intent. An elbow to the back of the head is one of the dirtiest dangerous things you could do on a footy field and the fact you can walk away with 1 week off while blokes are getting multiple weeks for tackling around the legs is just outright crazy.
