Queensland Maroons Game III team confirmed

Billy Slater has today confirmed the Queensland Maroons team for Game III of the State of Origin series in Sydney.

Assuming Drinkwater and Lenui are not in the matchday 17, then that is a horrible bench for NSW - 1 front rower (Saifiti), 1 hooker (Robson), 1 lock (Yeo) and 1 fullback (Gutherson).

NSW will get pounded right down the middle if that is the bench for Game 3 as Qld will run their big boppers all day right up the guts. Qld will pick 2 front rowers on its bench to ensure a constant supply of relatively fresh players to make those hit ups.

wow, well I will reserve judgement until after the game... but IMO some odd calls. I really don't know how the fox has escaped criticism the whole series, I think he has shown a complete lack of urgency in both attack and defense and cost us big time missing to be in position to score and falling off tackles. Edwards being on the wing would have had the mindset to shut it down. I guess if they fail, then it will be final strike against the oldies like Walker etc.

yeah - would have gone Hynes over Walker at least to see how he goes in a full game with relatively low pressure
Think Best should go ok - I assume that Campbell Graham is unavailable

Would have gone Gutherson on the wing ahead of Addo-Carr with Drinkwater on the bench

I assume that Gutherson is going to be the 12 minute man for this game or he could come on as a sub for an injured front rower
