I'm certainly not doing backflips about Gamble but this is such a nothing comment.
What about their star 7? And outside backs etc etc
Half that team would walk into a starting spot here.
Might be a nothing comment but it’s regarding a nothing player. He has zero creativity, can’t kick and other than being a competitor (which he apparently is because he carries on like a dickhead a lot on the field) he’s not improving us in any way.

I think the best we can hope for at this stage
1. Bailey Hodgson
2. Dane Gagai
3. Dom Young
4. Kristian Mapalangi
5. Bradman Best
6. Kalyn Ponga
7. Jake Clifford
8. Jacob Saifiti
9. Jayden Brailey
10. Daniel Saifiti
11. Tyson Frizell
12. Kai Pearce-Paul
13. David Klemmer

14. Will Pryce
15. Adam Elliott
16. Jack hetherington
17. Matt Croker

everyone fit and firing, playing to potential that’s a top 8 side

Elliot will be our best forward when he comes. He will be our 13 if AOB has any sanity.

Struggling to put together a competitive side from the 29 apparently committed for 2023.
Keep in mind this is assuming everyone is healthy, which is a complete fantasy.

I really cant see Clifford being here next year

Gamble incoming, Crossland resigned and Clune would have zero interest from any where else. Couple that with the fact the club seems determined to chase every has been half in both the NRL and ESL, well there just wouldnt be room to carry so many crappy halves in the squad, something would have to give and Cliff seems the most likely candidate

It's a shame because he's clearly the highest talent/ceiling of them, just needs to get his head right.

Stick in croft at 7 I guess if that's the case, results won't change too much.

This is what really bothers me.
I think Cliff has the highest ceiling when compared to Phoenix and Clune... With Clune having the lowest floor and Phoenix just perfectly mediocre.

And we'll keep the two lower end players.

AOB doesn't want high upside players, he wants his hardest trainers with no actual ability to go out there and make the town proud with their effort™. Clune & Crossland might not be able to do any of the things you want from your halves in attack, but at least they're trying really hard when they're getting trampled in defence.

The Kurt Mann protocol.
Trains like an animal, tough as an old boot, does exactly what he's told on the field, not very good.
Don't forget, will hold your drink while you're spewing up in the toilet. Great bloke, better team mate.

That's what I think will be picked.
Maybe French gets a spot though.

Not that it was a massive secret, but knights offical signed Gamble for 2 years

really really hope Clifford can find his form again and can lead the team at 7 with Gamble playing a Josh Reynolds type role
If we do keep Clifford, i think he is a 6 not a 7. He is just one of those halves that can't lead a team around, he is best suited to playing with freedom, in my opinion.

I know some players can develop the ability to organise and lead a team, but i don't see it in Clifford. If we could find a halfback like that, then that's when Clifford would excel

Don't forget Crossland manages to trip over his own feet as well

That happens in Round 2 when Gagai goes back to centre because Best got hurt.
i wouldn't be surprised if Best is offloaded to another NRL team or Super league, not that i agree with that, but he is a player that will be wanted by other clubs.

The problem with Best is he is injured way too much and we already have too many players who are injury prone in Ponga and Brailey. The difference is those two are spine players and are a lot harder to replace then a centre.

There will be a lot of hard decisions being made over the next 2 years with the roster and some of these decisions us as fans are probably not going to be happy with, i'm guessing

They won’t be hard decisions if AOB is in charge. He can’t even let go of Crossland, Johns and Randall.

The problem isn’t just the quality of the players but the fact we have so many in the lower ability who are contracted to end at same time. If half those ending in 2023 had ended 2022 we would not have a space worry, this is just poor management and planning
