mostly because hes a twitter dude with no reputation or credibility?

I'm obviously not questioning why the media aren't directly quoting "richitigrub", but rather why the information contained within regarding yearly cumulative audiences is so rarely mentioned, not just from journo's but from the NRL itself.

He’s right rothfield is a dope

most people who quote ratings have no clue what they are talking about

If there's one thing FTA networks are good at it's blowing their own horn. Meanwhile, in the background their stranglehold on the industry is collapsing...
There’s no way we keep getting 50 more viewers than afl and they keep getting the tv deals they do

worse ours are still growing organically (without adding new teams) whilst theirs are falling

their failure to address the decline in viewers in nsw and qld is their Achilles heel. Their ratings work two teams in each state are barely what one team used to get when afl was more popular in nsw and qld

The NRL and AFL rarely mention it. The first time Ive seen an official from either ever mention it outside an annual report was when the NRL did it at the end of the season proper.

The AFL never does it outside of the Annual Report, the NRL rarely does it at all recently. The only commentary regarding this during the season generally comes from me and whatever media is quoting me.

The NSW figures intrigue me. What I find interesting is that the supposed biggest AFL club -- the Sydney Swans -- has a smaller internet search presence than the top 7 Sydney NRL clubs in NSW.

And that said they only just beat the Sharks and Dragons this year.

But now let's compare - Rabbitohs, Eels, Sharks vs GWS & Swans--

Basically GWS Giants is about a third as popular as Cronulla.

Representative sampling is a legit form of statistics
As I’ve written before it was legitimate in 1988 when I first worked with it and it still is. It’s been refined to the point where it’s undeniable. Unless of course you don’t like what it’s telling you.
