While this is valid, its true of the AFL and other sports as well.

Nielson have rolled out Out of Home Viewing in the US, trialling from 2014 and including it in national ratings since 2020, with trials suggesting sport receives a 14% lift early on. No timeline for this to be introduced here.
There's no way to tell hoe many are watching it out in public. It's all bullshit and guessing, just like Nielson ratings. Only streaming companies can give a accurate numbers on thier platform... like Sky and the 700k watching the Warriors for example 😉

A friend's kid has got a sherrin from an auskick day at school. He and his mates play RL with it in the backyard. Yet according to the AFL, he's officially a participant 🤣🤣🤣
Ivan Cleary was talking a while back about when Nathan was playing junior rugby league and he got counted as an afl junior

Ivan was bemused to say the least

that’s a great use for a Sherrin that’s for sure

When will you be adding NZ figures, towards the ratings? I'm sick of asking you all the time as I'm getting a sore throat from It. Let's just give a rough estimate 20 million for the season, put that towards it mate and hurry up 😆

And In Australia at least, they arent giving out that data. NZ have given you one piece of data in the entire year and you dont even know what it means.

Its noted as what it has been reported with some caveats on my part. Yearly summary thing is normally done on the consolidated data...so next week

It means 700k watched the Wahs in NZ and zero watched AFL

actually it doesnt. No information is given for the AFL. Its also the same amount of information given for the entire rest of the season whether AFL or NRL. If there was other information Id have reported that

The information was given and from Sky no less. 1m watched the All Blacks, 700k watched the Wahs and AFL is so insignificant in the market it didn't rate a mention. Its ok mate, we have 700k in NZ. You can have Adelaide and the rest of the wastelands

Lots of ratings also didnt rate a mention on Sky or do you imagine they showed two programs the entire weekend,

And you can believe what you want, it will be asterisked in my data and not used to assume any other data. No pattern can be formed off a one off audience - whatever that audience form is.

And anyone who claims otherwise needs their head examined

I don't really care what you do in your data. The fact is Sky reported 700k viewers in NZ.l, that's data from the source.

If AFL or any other program were anything near that galaxy, it would have rated a mention but it didn't because it's irrelevant in the market.

I don’t get sookies position

nz is roughly 20 percent of the population of Australia

so just add twenty percent to the ratings

elementary my dear Watson

I agree with him that he can do whatever he wants with his data. I don't care, I don't follow it, but we as RL fans need to push back on the narrative that the AFL are killing us in the finals ratings... sure, if you take all the the ratings for one of our teams out you are.

Letting afl control the narrative is wrong

they lie

their ceo is claiming they are number one in qld and their media are repeating it

in the afl world they can’t comprehend New Zealand but the reality is rugby league right now is on par with union and it’s a massive market

figures have been provided for what the warriors get on fta

estimates can be made

sookie can put whwatever he wants on his site but he’s banning people who question his methods

It is data. It is from Sky. The data is unspecified, and given its the ONLY data this year Im quite entitled to query what exactly that data means. Because for whatever reason, unfortunately my data is relied upon by people outside this forum.

And if i tried this shit with the AFL, Id be rightfully lynched by anyone with basic knowledge of how ratings actually work.
