Back of the napkin.

NRL saturday total 1 FTA game, 3 games in total 1.8m viewers
AFL saturday total 2 FTA games, 5 games in total 1.6m viewers
Aleague pre lim maybe 200k crowd 27k.
Super rugby pacific QCB stadium NSW/QLD crowd 5k if you are lucky, ratings maybe 150k.

Coronation smashed both games but the NRL took the win in a big way.

NRL Saturday
1x FTA game, 3 x STV game = 1.822m (ave 607,000)
NRL Crowd: 50,183

AFL Saturday
4x FTA games (2 broadcasts), 5x STV games = 1.717m (ave 343,000)
AFL Crowds: 108,347

Wonder how that went up against King Charles coronation?

Saw 736k for Ch7

Coronation towered over everything.

With streaming

ABC 1.18m
Seven 1.09m
Nine 738k
Ten 620k
Sky news 151k

I am sure it was also on secondary channels.

Total 3.779m+ secondary channels.

The coronation is an event and a rare one at that. People like to be apart of history and as much as it seems counterintuitive they like watching rich people do their extravagant things. Same reason people like shit like the Kardashians.

I doubt most people watching actually care all that much about the monarchy.
I agree, similar to all the anachronistic palaver the Churches, in particular the Catholic Church, go on with.
The interesting aspect for me is that they are rare glimpses into medieval rituals that probably have passed their used by date but reveal something about ourselves by providing a window into our distant past.

From memory the past couple seasons, AFL viewership falls away from around the round 8 mark.

Looks to be going on trend all be it a little later this time.

Not sure why this happens.

You had the preliminary ratings for ALF Anzac round @ 6.4m , where did the other 500k come from that is a big jump

Good question Frank.

My guess is Wookie has added crowds and viewership together.

If that is what has happened then it would be nice if it said that on the graph to prevent confusion.
