I said "earlier", so it's incidental, but nonetheless from page 67 of this thread -Wrong thread mate
some years I lose most interest in the nrl post origin until the semis

If you have nothing better to do than go back to posts 14 pages ago I guess that’s your choiceI said "earlier", so it's incidental, but nonetheless from page 67 of this thread -
Mid season makes far more sense IMO. It’s a nice change up to the NRL season. I also like that if it was standalone in the middle of the seasons the teams all get a break before making their run into the finals.
How’s this compare to historical data? Seems bad for the AFL.
There were some figures put up the other day: club game sans Warriors ~30k; inc. Warriors ~90k. Don`t know how old these figures are and may understate the current popularity of the Warriors in N.Z. at the moment.Dolphins hung in there as usual. Absence of an experienced dummy-half probably cost them in the territory battle.
Pity we don't get the figures for Sky NZ viewers. Fox ratings are not a true reflection of Warriors popularity.
There is absolutely no chance this is true lol.Sky know the NZ ratings but they’re not publishing them in my opinion as they’re high and rival (not beat) AB’s games, therefore don’t watch to pay more than they have to for each tv contract

We should be playing test matches in October not bloody Origin
You’re reading skills lately have been really poor lmaoNo, but there should be a three week NRL mid season break for origin and rep tournament, and less NRL rounds. Sometimes less is more.
A rigorously pure NRL competition would have no Origin during its season, no salary cap, and no play-offs.
Weak argumentA rigorously pure NRL competition would have no Origin during its season, no salary cap, and no play-offs.
Richer clubs are prevented from spending as much as they would like. A team can win the premiership after finishing as low as 8th on the ladder. Like the effects of mid-season Origin, these vagaries are part of a mix that successful clubs manage and intelligent fans assimilate.
You can either accept the deal and enjoy the ride. Or carp and cavil at supposed distortions. The last two NRL rounds have provided ample grounds for genuine fans to choose the former. Vacuous journalists habitually incline to the latter because it fills columns and airtime.
too many big words for me to understand. might have to get spud caroll to translateWeak argument
