Does North Sydney Bears news count?

if so, cocaine bear 2

Apologies, in advance, behind a paywall but here’s the source https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw...edly-found-in-hotel-room-20241002-p5kfc9.html

I read the article this morning. This is rather more serious as its about him allegedly being an illicit drug supplier.

Must be something about the Bears at the moment. They only recently lost its NSWRL Cup Coach due to him placing a bet on a Bears game, and him being de-registered and banned till at least 2026.

It's the WA influence coming through the Western Bears franchise... expect more of this when they move west.

The star rookie halfback leading the Roosters into the future has been charged with a serious driving offence in which a person was allegedly gravely injured.

The star rookie halfback leading the Roosters into the future has been charged with a serious driving offence in which a person was allegedly gravely injured.
Sandon Smith is set to face the Downing Centre Local Court for the first time tomorrow, charged with negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm.

A Roosters spokesperson confirmed they were aware of the matter and the NRL integrity unit has been notified.

The 21-year-old halfback rode in to rescue a Roosters side decimated by injury for the finals series, pairing with Luke Keary in the club’s campaign before they were knocked out in the preliminary final.

The Central Coast-born rising star created history in 2023 as the first player to make his NRL debut for the Sydney Roosters after progressing through the club’s Central Coast pathways program.

He featured in 15 matches in his debut season.

Looks like no fault standown doesn’t apply as it’s a ten year max sentence vs 11 required by the nrl
