The future is here
Certainly looks promising and exciting if it happens. And a big game changer for the club.

As i said previously the whole leagues club precinct needs a revamp its just a dungeon full of pokies. Everyone i know at the footy prefers everywhere else bar the leagues club when it comes to pre & post-game.

I can assure you the dipshit pizza owner and Spags wouldn't have come up with this.

You are right, but the thing is they don't make most of their money from the pre and post game footy fans. They get their money from every other time of the week. People going out to dinner, having a drink and of course those people sitting in front of a pokie machine for 6 hours a day.

Improving the precinct is a great idea and give them further income streams (especially the hotel) which they can use to expand even more in the future. It's fantastic.

They won't be getting rid of the pokies though. If anything they may get more. Just like Panthers Club.

It's good they are building a new Leagues Club next to the car park the current one is a terrible space tightly squeezed...

Looks promising, as long as they have a better sports bar facility than the shoebox one they currently have. Seriously that is an absolutely joke and I haven't gone back since 2020

@emjaycee @MarkInTheStands

Just got an email from Parramatta Leagues about the vote 25th February

Just gone online to vote & I notice Roy Spagnolo's name is on the list to be voted in.

I assume the club knew he had put his name back into the ring for this vacanacy and how many times can this germ keep going into the ring for these votes.

Have you read all the Special Resolutions ?

SR 1, is to change the LC's constitution in line with the removal of the 5 K radius.

SR 2, is to change the LC's constitution to remove someone who has had an adverse finding from ILGA or OLG or any other court or tribunal, or any other club from being a member of the LC

SR 3, is to change the number of members required to request a special general meeting to 5%

SR 4, is to publish to all members if some member has requested the members register for the LC.

Already voted. I see the nospam07, Sim guy is backing up again.
I've ticked the incumbents and a gaggle of "Fors". Hard to be critical of all the changes that were long overdue, finally happening. Im in!

I see hundreds of reasons for voting in support of current board members seeking re-election, and hence will be voting for Mark Jenkins and Phil Sim.

I see hundreds of reasons to not vote for Roy Spagnolo and Steve Christou.

I don't know enough about the other candidates to be entirely sure they aren't just stooges for Roy or Fitzy... or in some way linked to Roy's recent disastrous and wasteful EGM attempt.

So on first glance...

SR1 seems innocuous and ok, if it is just to align the constitution with changes to the Clubs Act. However it is a lengthy resolution, and depending on where the resolution came from (which members proposed it), I'd be double checking there isn't some hidden detail that opens the gate for a Roy or similar to do something unintended....

SR2 sounds good as it appears to be a clause that would root out proven failed people from being members (and potentially Directors). I'd fully support this, so that the stains from our club's past can't come back into power.

SR3 sounds good, provided it is to increase the current number/% required to call an SGM to 5% (and not to drop it down to 5%)?

SR4 sounds good, and provides clarity and accountability about anyone is getting our details while trying to direct market to get themselves elected to Director positions.
