It’s going to be interesting to see how the attack evolves in 2024 - I think the defensive mindset will obviously remain the key driver for this Panthers side but can’t help but think what tweaks will be added to the attack this coming year.

It probably only really clicked to full potential vs Cowboys in the last H&A round and vs Warriors, vs Storm in finals. There was the odd H&A game like vs Raiders early on etc

This is the area where Critta’s and Spencer’s departures will be felt most, especially Critta as he was an additional strike weapon who could genuinely turn a match on his own.

IMO, we must allow both halves to play both sides of the field. Cleary looked electric whenever he got a little wider of the ruck (which was mostly with Cogger to be fair).
There was another game against Manly at home early in the year. We absolutely shredded them in the first half using this tactic.

We've also shown that guys like Martin, Garner and Tago can play either side of the field. I'd be continuing to switch that up throughout the year - trying to find the best matchups for us to exploit. Will make it harder for our opposition to break us down defensively if they're unsure who will be standing next to who.

It will be interesting where they play Scott.

He is a backrower but kept Ryley Smith out. 12 months at hooker could make it interesting down the track

Our attack was still poor inside the 20 last year. Having Cleary stand out wider should help, especially with Luai's footwork standing closer in. That should get defences hanging back more

Plenty of room for improvement in our attack for sure.

Full season with Kenny in the groove and I think Kenny has improvement left in him.

Potentially a reliable run first dummy half option off the bench in Sommerton who can defend/offer decent service.

Edwards continuing to improve his ball playing to unlock that right side.

Tago being fit will help, he was electric when he strung a few games together but was off the pitch half the year. Sure we don't have Critta but a full season of May/Tago will hopefully be better than a year of Critta + Peach/Hosking/Tago/Garner.

Turuva has a stack of potential, some of the broken field runs late in the year showed that he could well be part of the answer to replacing Critta's class.

Cleary having a good season. He's realistically been patchy the last few years, with plenty of time on the sideline before turning up in the finals. He's just hit his prime and I think there is every chance he becomes untouchable at some point soon.

As others have said, how our halves combine. We flirted with Luai taking a more dominant role late last year before reverting. THere was some good signs in that period but we never quite got the balance right/need a pre-season.
