Sulli was released so daddy could bring his son in absolute shit decision.
We could see that this was on the cards as soon as Flanno Snr got the job. I do hope that Flanno Snr can get Flanno Jnr playing top footy or else, both could be on the chopping block in a year or so.

Have faith, that is what I keep saying to myself. If we fail again in this changeover of head coach, that will definitely be it for me. This is our best chance, don't blow it.

o I am positive that Sullivan was only staying if he was guaranteed a starting half position.. which we couldn't or wouldn't do... and with old mate Hunt.. I dont think we need 2 halves that dont want to be here.. give some benefit of the doubt to the coaching staff who actually deal with the kid and his manager everyday.

o But yes there has to be another half coming.. and there are many months to play out yet.. its just been made more difficult since Gould keeps signing every fringe player. Herring mustn't be in the 'next up' halves equation anymore.. well I assume he will be the Cup 5/8 next year..., but we would have had him wrapped him up by now if we thought he was any risk of being poached.. and it seems like King Togia has leapfrogged him.. but Togia is probably 12mths behind Herring in experience.... Togia is only 18 though, Herring is 22, so perhaps they are hoping Togia's ceiling will end up higher..

We already have a back-up half in DeBelin available when he is not spending time on the sideline suspended for a hipdrop tackle.

I personally hope we get Alex twal.. I would also have a look at Jordan mclean from the cows.. plenty of experience. Both are solid defenders. Looking at who is off contract i feel for flanno because there is no marquee players available until 25 the best we can do is add a few big bodys up front and hope lomax, sloan have breakout years or noone will want to join us. 8.Lawrie 9.Liddle 10.Mclean/Twal 11. Sele 12.Sua 13.Debelin thats not a terrible pack
15. B Lawrie, 16. F Molo, and 17. Sele off the bench.

We need two big first-grade level props and hopefully one first-grade edge forward.

I don't want to get ahead of myself but I'm starting to see some green shoots emerging which might see the Dragons emerge as a powerhouse club again. The signing of a host of juniors such as Halangahu, Latu and others and seeing the southern district development day this weekend is filling me with some realistic optimism. I'm starting to get a vibe that the club is on the pathway to revitalising many aspects of its development, recruitment and operations. I'm not saying it will be a quick fix and there will definitely be some bumps in the road but my overriding feeling is one of quiet optimism heading into the future. We have the opportunity to build a "Penrith" dynasty over the next 5 years if the right people are involved...

I agree Twinkletoes but this should have been done 2 years ago and Sullivan should be taking over at 7 in 2024 and Hunt let go but Hook blocked all this and coached some terrible habbits into the players. I am not sure which was a worse signing now looking back, Hunt or Hook. Both destroyed the club.

So Flanno Jnr covers 6, 7 & 9. He’ll be busy if we lose 2 of them at once.
I’m not sure of the plan if Hunt is out for any reason and Amone falls foul of the magistrate.

My top priority is a big dominant prop, then a quality edge left backrower.

Would be great to get some more speed in the backs too, but I'm confident Flanno can make our NSW cup left edge of Tamale and Finau first grade ready if we can't sign any quality backs.

So he said we can expect 2-3 more signings before Christmas. I am going to take a wild stab based off the rumours from the last few weeks at who they might be:
1. Shawn Blore
2. Cade Cust
3. Dan Russell
BUT its reported we are looking at resigning burns ... if so where does that leave us for signing outside our squad ? Its even more important that Turner musgrove get picked up so we have wriggle room to get someone better than we have currently . also didnt we resign russel a week or 2 ago Id only go with cust if we lose amone

Musgrove has been released

Can’t imagine Turner finding another club easily.

We might have a couple guys on train and trial?

Wonder if Russell is again in that grouping?

We’ve got some really good juniors coming through on our development list, there’s four or five really good players there and then our train-and-trial players, the quality of the players in there is really good so I’m looking forward to working with them and who knows where those young boys can go.

“We saw the Couchmans make their debuts this year after coming through the program and there’s and a few more to come, so I’m looking forward to those guys getting in another pre-season.”

Flanno last night
