Well done to Bayleigh for a very good performance on debut. Myers was so-so but did some good things too.

With Wighton back next week and Rava likely available, it will be interesting next TLT despite the win because they stripped our edges a fair bit - and still lost. (p.s. 🤣)

AND with guys like Latrell, AJ, Jack etc missing but who should be back in the coming weeks. It's enormous.

In saying that, we face a couple of top 4 teams in the next 2 weeks so even more important to win the winnable games and give ourselves some confidence and a "free swing" at teams expected to handle us.

Lachlan Ilias stats today - 1 try assist, 20 tackles, 3 missed tackles, 1 offload, 27 metres run, 544 kick metres, 43 fantasy points.

Nuff said.

It's almost forgotten in the excitement of the win but we were down to just 15 players less than midway through the 2nd half after losing Duncan (52nd min) to a hammy and Arrow (48th min) to his 2nd HIA in sapping heat. Yes, they lost Suli (a back) but that was much later (66th min).

This amplifies just how much fitter we are compared to last year as well as compared to the Dragons who ran out of petrol while we kept punching on.

Man of the match? Wayne Bennett!

View from the Loft:
1. 4 forward Passes called. Loft did not see it that way. Enormous gifts for St. George.
2. Graham is a special person and player. Little wonder Bellamy wanted him badly a while ago.
3. Both #8 & #9 have steadily improved under Burt. Becoming starters the squad can trust.
4. Yet to see the same type of improvement from Duncan and Moale. Burt still has homework still to do there.
5. Hubner and The Humph are typical Burt projects. Gutsy, fit and very willing.
6. Sans Burt we lose last week 30-14 and this week 34-16. That is the difference El Hombre makes. Its Enormous.
7. Ilias is already struggling and St. George may wonder why they bothered.

Forget all about last year and the last phase of Dopey Demetriou's stay. Irrelevant now. Different Instructor, different results and effort.
