5 day turn around for us. We're still missing plenty - no Murray, both Mitchells, AJ, Aitken, Munro, Hubner, Schuster.

Penrith will be missing Cleary and Edwards but will still be overwhelming favourites.

Can't remember the last time they lost 3 in a row. Probably have to go back to 2019.

Rabbitohs NRL squad for round four against Panthers this Thursday

South Sydney Rabbitohs
Tue 25 Mar 2025, 04:00 PM

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their squad for round four against the Penrith Panthers to be played this Thursday 27 March at 8pm at Accor Stadium.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Wayne Bennett has named Alex Johnston to return on the wing for his first game since round 21 last season. Isaiah Tass has been named to play in the centres, replacing the injured Campbell Graham who sustained a lower limb injury to his leg in last week’s game against the Sharks.
Mikaele Ravalawa will play the 100th NRL game of his career this Thursday against the Panthers, having made his NRL debut for the Dragons against the Cowboys in round one, 2019.
Siliva Havili is set to play his 50th NRL game in South Sydney colours this Thursday since making his Rabbitohs first grade debut against the Broncos in round one, 2022.
The Rabbitohs will be paying tribute to Ray Martin AM at this game, who retired from the South Sydney Members District Rugby League Football Club (Member Co.) Board at its recent Annual General Meeting. Mr Martin’s support of the Club spans almost two decades in an official capacity, was a leading member of Group 14 who campaigned so hard for the Rabbitohs to be reinstated to the elite competition in Australia in the early 2000s, and has supported the Club for many more decades. Mr Martin was awarded Life Membership of the Rabbitohs in 2016.
The Rabbitohs are supporting Down Syndrome NSW and their Lots of Socks initiative this week following last week’s World Down Syndrome Day. Up to 100 people from Down Syndrome NSW will be joining the Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium on Thursday night, including social media superstars Sean and Marley!
Down Syndrome NSW representatives will also be attending the Rabbitohs’ captain’s run training session on Wednesday, where the South Sydney players will be wearing the Lots of Socks socks which raise money and awareness for Down Syndrome NSW as part of the Lots of Socks promotion. If you want to grab your own pair of Lots of Socks socks, please click here.

AJ is back baby! Campbell is missing though so Tass to right centre. They're the only changes in the side.

The level of urgency and intensity will hopefully also be a change that is much higher this week too.

If the squad plays with much greater ferocity - lets be honest, they were never there mentally against Up Up Malaka - this is a highly winnable game. Penrith's dominance is ending and Baldy Edwards has been a nemesis for seasons. His absence has to be a significant plus. Great to see Alex J return one can only hope he gets through this ok if he plays.
Further, we can only keep fingers crossed for CG. Do not want to see him endure another prolonged absence.
The pack could do with some more power and aggression.
Ataata could provide it in addition to moving KK back to 10 or 8. And why not put Weighton back at 6 and Walker at 7 then move The Humph to 9? Weighton too can punt very high and at present we are not getting enough from him.
The offense has been rather timid and at some stage has to be honed up.

Si, the INTENSITY has to be there for this. Walker and Weighton need to have strong performances in this or else its back to the drawing board. Is there any further prognosis on CG's blessure?

I think wholesale changes is not the answer after just one loss. We have more players due back in the next few weeks and hopefully Campbell's absence is only a short one. Often coaches pick the same losing side to give them the opportunity to make amends and get right what they got wrong the week before. Hoping that's the case this week of course.
