Bennett has come out and said Gray will start at 5/8 and Dodd to the benchWalker has done a calf again - out for 5 weeks.
We are cooked. I expect Dodd to half and Sully to 5/8. A real match winning combo!
I can’t wait to see how he goes at 5/8 it brings another level of excitement to the gameI still prefer Jye at fullback, but having him at 5/8 is miles better than wasting him on the bench.
It's his natural position. He was converted into a fullback which has developed his running game and toughened him up to take the collisions. A good player becomes a great player when they develop all the skills of their game.If he takes to 5/8 like he took to fullback then I'm all for him making it his own.
He does having a kicking game from memory of seeing him in Jersey Flegg wearing the 6 and putting Munro away for tries as well as in the 2024 Charity Shield. Now this is an interesting turn of events. Jye was technically a half coming through the grades. I wonder if he has a kicking game.
Father time gets us all. Cody is suddenly unable to stay fit and it's soft tissue injury after soft tissue injury. This is our future jye at 5/8 Cody keeps breaking down with old man injuries
Bench players cop a really bad rap. It is NOT a waste playing from the bench and many bench players play key roles. It is strategic for the coach to inject a player at a particular time in the game which can turn things around. It should no longer be seen as a demotion or being "dropped". Not at all. He would have been dynamite off the bench, not a "waste".I still prefer Jye at fullback, but having him at 5/8 is miles better than wasting him on the bench.
Devaluing bench players. Boooo!I think it is a waste putting one of your best players on the bench. If they are capable of playing 80 minutes then that's where they should be, on the field. The bench is for forwards who lack the stamina to play 80 minutes.
Boooo! Not at all. Just saying some players are WAY too good to be wasting time on the bench.
