Honestly this is so disappointing, this run of injurys is neverending and the way cams achilies has become infected its no sure thing he will be right next year, its an injury that can end a carreer.
All i know is we need a huge influx of youngsters

I think this was stated last year or the year before that we had an ageing roster and we needed an influx of young talent to future proof our side Canberra has done it and are starting to reap the rewards

Wighton has now been ruled out with a calf injury and Dodd will start in the halves. Dodd is expected to play halfback with Jayden Sullivan to shift to five-eighth.

Sigh.

The Loft is concerned. Very concerned.
Far too many injuries and players NOT available to be taken seriously. Best ability is, as Herm Edwards always says, AVAILABILITY, yet we have almost a constant zero of that from important personnel. Otherwise we are aking to a lead anchor.
Burt has to eventually find some offense, combinations that bring some strike. If things continue as they have been sackings will be common place. New names have to be given a shot.
The Loft has argued for some time that if Burt cannot get L. Mitchell firing, if the man seemingly has no real interest in football any longer, he should be released. Get rid of him he may be poisoning the squad. Something is out of character here and it needs rectifying. Watching the squad there appears to be no JUICE, no hunger or intensity. Mitchell's carefree attitude may be part of that problem, given his stature and natural talent which has no correlation to his current actual performances.
The Loft also recommends KK be returned to Prop position. The pack lacks real punch and KK at Prop can at least inject some.

If ever there’s a week for Dodd to come into the side it’s this week.
The game is still winnable. The knights have been terrible.
This is his big break.
He gets to start and play a full game in the top grade.
I guess by the end we will know whether he’s up to it or not and the club will have a better indication rather than half a game here and there or playing Reggie’s with a bunch of no-names .

Agreed. I was quite surprised Wayne still left him out for this game given all the outs and didn't even include him on the bench. Feels like the rumours of Souths looking to shop him off are clear as a bell.

But, as you say, this is his chance to show what he's got. Cody and Jack won't be back for some weeks and Humphreys might still be a few more weeks too. Then again, Latrell is back next week so that means either he or Gray take the 6 jumper and unless Dodd shines he goes back to reggies - if Sullivan is still standing.

I thought Souths defended quite well against Melbourne in Melbourne and an 8 point loss down there is quite creditable.

We've got most of our forwards intact but have a make shift backline and set of halves. I guess we look to play it through the middle and try and grind our way to a win given the Knights can carve out wide if you give them room. The last thing we want to do is play Kalyn Ponga and the rest of their backs back into form.

Looks like it'll be a dry track unfortunately but if we keep defending the way we have been and they keep attacking like they have been, it should be a tight affair. I think it will either be a narrow win to us or a big win to them if they break out of their funk.

Maybe schuster should be added to the 17 over Myers for extra insurance for the halves
Was about to post the same thing. Sullivan has covered the outside backs in previous games so he could shift out there if need be.

But Schuster could come on as an x-factor off the bench and change up the shapes and type of attack the Knights have been seeing from Sully.

I'm sure Wayne is mulling it over. Depends on Shuey's fitness levels I guess although he would only probably need to play 25-30 minutes which he should handle you'd think.

Could he be there for goal kicking? Tass is very average at best. Aitken could move back into the pack once Myers comes onto the field
Or they could just as easily drop BBH and play Myers from the start with Schuster onto the bench.

We'll see come 1 hour before kick-off.
