There will be no major signings for the next 2 years but we could still be losing players the cap is so far out .I have been reliably informed the budget is so dire the only contracts left are the bourbon and pie deals
If blade was still here I am sure he would announce my signing to one of these deals .Get ready suckers my jersey will not have a number .I am so fat it will have a postcode

We have some serious talents in the Flegg side quite a few who could be NRL prospects.
Great win today, while vastly understrength, I think we don’t have to look at any big name signings the prospects are in our own ranks.

Who is feeling 10 in a row? I am.

Souths
Tigers
Titans
Knights

5 wins already then those 4 games. I think Souths will be the hardest one followed by the Titans who have some great forwards.

Then:

Storm
Raiders
Bulldogs

I'm predicting 1/3 or 2/3 wins there. Storm a W which would give us 10 on he trot. Dogs to blow their load on an early grand final against us. Raiders game I'm not really sure as its not the finals yet (If we meet in the finals it would be very difficult to back the Raiders). That round 25 match could go either way I feel.

Dragons final round. By then you'd hope we have secured a finals berth and can afford to look at resting players but who knows.

I thought you meant premierships initially. And yeah, why the f**k not?

This won't be popular but come September I'd pick Alamoti over Jenkins if everyone is fit. It would be brutal but my decision is based on physical power in finals football

If the side was picked today he wouldn't be in it.

Jenkins is one of the form players in the NRL right now. Last night wasn't his best match but prior to that he has been absolutely terrific. He would be been a massive improvement on Lomax in Origin.

Alamoti will get his chance through injury but I can't see him forcing his way back in. Everyone else in the backline is just playing too well.

Nothing wrong with competition for spots.

Alamoti has a far higher ceiling and is better suited to our current game plan.

Either is a good option really

Wouldn't be unhappy with Alamoti. I just think Jenkins has well and truly won the spot. I'd tell McClean to keep up his form and remind him that Alamoti is next up.

Not an exaggeration to say Jenkins is one of the best backs in the comp right now. It was a shock seeing him mess up that try last night. He hasn't put a foot wrong for ages.

He single handedly shredded Munro for our second try. Was safe in the air. Defended well. He was excellent.

Did drop that one try though. Not quite at his lofty standard.

He did everything right.

Transferred the ball to his left hand to fend off the inside defenders.

It was when he pulling the bach toward his torso to ground it, it got knocked out.

Turuva used to shit me when he wouldn't put the ball in his left hand when playing left wing.

Milky made a few little errors in attack only. But in his defence, we went to him a lot because he has a hot hand at the moment.

Souffs marked him heavily too because he's in good form.

It must be pretty hard to still be a rookie in reality and having every side come hard at you because you are going well. Keep it up Milky.

Being retired I watch a lot of footy. I even travel from the South Coast for all home games for the extra footy dose to feed my addiction. It helps that I still have family in the Penrith district to catch up with.

At this point in the season here is my state of the nation.

1. The Bulldogs have finally learnt to grind. It's a must when every team gets up for you week after week. We've been doing it for years now.

2. If Canberra weren't playing Parra this round, they would have been in trouble. Class and speed saved them. They are not far away from a bubble burst.

3. Mark Coates well and you beat Melbourne. Last night Manly kept Katoa in check so Melbourne's plan B was Coates.

4. Cronulla and the Roosters are pretenders and both hate teams that tackle hard. They spend a lot of time confronting the ref thinking they are entitled to penalties, when in fact they are serial offenders.

5. Manly are way too inconsistent to threaten the top 4 or 5 teams in finals.

6. All other teams are making up the numbers now.

If we stay relatively fit, even though we've won probably every GF with broken players, our defence and finals experience will have every team worried.

5 in a row is definitely possible.

The Roosters one comes from the coach. He's created that culture he cant go a single loss without blaming the officials.

The Roosters are farked because they have gone all in on Sam Walker.

He can't tackle and doesnt have the mentality to play set for set. He wants points off every touch.

They were more disciplined with a rookie manufactured halfback.

Add in Rugby Mark and Spencer you have a team that is all show no go.

Roosters have a fairly tough draw. I don't see them making the 8.

Happy if they do though. I'd love to play the Roosters week one. Dolphins less so.
