Boult and Southee are the best in world cricket. Period.

Shaky but the World Cup campaign is still on track for the Black Caps.

Also Martin Crowe finally being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame was the icing on the cake!

Holy crap what a terrifying last few overs! What a time for a classic Black Caps collapse to rear it's ugly head!

So glad I was there but in the end the win was more a relief than celebration! Kudos to the Aussie bowlers for nearly snatching victory.

Craziness!

Interesting analysis on Cricinfo from Trott, and Bevan in particular. Made a good point that batsmen are teeing off a little early thinking they have to score 330-350, but the majority of the runs have come late in the innings rather than at the start and players should still take their time getting settled.

And from a NZ/Australia perspective, they probably have the two strongest overall bowling units at the cup and Bevan suggested that if either of these teams get to 300 with the bat the extra ability they have with the ball will be enough more often than not.

I feel like Vettori was the difference between the teams today. Excellent bowling from him, as he has produced through the whole campaign.

He is an absolute gem.

Now that I've far less pissed off, well played NZ. A cricketing nation that is building very very nicely across all 3 formats.

Watson's ego was the difference,i'll pull a dreadful delivery straight to the man in the outfield instead of hitting it to the ground cos im a big strong man with huge levers whom can clear the rope and show them Kiwi's who's boss.

I just pictured/heard the SBW style voice over while Watson was waiting for Vettori to bowl then.

Just reflecting on it some more....

How classy was Williamson.

I don't think he was in trouble at all in the whole innings...

I think we wouldn't be anywhere near as good without him...

He allows McCullum to go batshit crazy at the top because he knows Williamson is behind him....

Good wake up call for the Aussies, at the same time, a good confidence booster for the black caps, although they made it a lot tougher in the end than it should have been.

I would love it if these two teams to meet in the final.

Williamson = Iceman. He's the 3rd best ODI batsman in the world behind Amla & de Villiers.

Boult showed his class. Best left armer in the world.

We really should have won that game by a lot more though. Relieved.
