It's beyond a joke when you have four or five South Africans in your team, including your captain, and you are trying to make out that this is the national side of England. English cricket was in the doldrums with their own players, the Ashes had ceased to be a relevant contest, and now some born and bred Saffers have propped up England via purely economic reasons - they've gone there chasing the pound. Aussies have turned a blind eye because it's revived their beloved Ashes.
I think we've got every right to use the likes of Wagner and Elliot when England have gone to the farcical extreme that they have, but I fully expect the hypocritical Aussies to give us sh*t about it.
Lol NZ are playing an ODI right this very moment (2/19 LOL) and yet all the sheep f**kers are more worried about the Australian match, god bless our little geniused neighbour.
Dude, the Aussies do give English sh*t for it. You're paranoid on this point. Its just a sign of the multicultural global world we live in. 5 Saffirs, 1 Saffir - makes no difference. They're still representing England and have the English Cricket fans behind them.
You think Caddick gave a toss he wasn't English? Why should Trott or Pieterson care... They're English in their heart now...
sheep rooters 4/59
A bunch of typical Englishmen.....
Andrew John Strauss Born March 2, 1977, Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa
Kevin Peter Pietersen Born June 27, 1980, Pietermaritzburg, Natal
Ian Jonathan Leonard Trott Born April 22, 1981, Cape Town, Cape Province
Matthew James Prior Born February 26, 1982, Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa
Craig Kieswetter Born November 28, 1987, Johannesburg, Transvaal
Strauss is hardly South African. Moved to England at 6 years of age and has an English mum.
Matt Prior is hardly a yappie too. Dad is English and moved to England at 11 years of age.
Pieterson and Trott are far easier to consider South African but they are both from English families and entitled to British passports at birth. Pieterson's mum is English! English South Africans are politically different to Dutch Sotuh Africans. To bring out that politics I used to mention how good Percy Montgomery was to any Dutch Saffir - who would then tell me how much better Andrew Joubert was.
Saffirs are not regional or club loyalty - its Eng v Dutch within South African white.
As far as I know South Africa is an independent nation. Next we'll be saying that Aussies and Kiwis should be returning to the 'motherland' to play, and that Afrikaaners should be turning out for Holland.
who cares?
